Well im a half Russian born kid living in Spain going to a British school and learning french and talk with a American accent. (lived in the states for 5 years)

How do you explain that good sir?
I'd say you were a multicultural half-Russian living in Spain.
I don't think you can simplify it any more, because it's not simple.

If I were you I would vote Europe but thats just my opinion.

After reading some posts im kinda curious, is there some sort of "animosity" (at least tongue-in-cheek "animosity" for lack of a better word) between England and the rest of Europe? Not trying to start anything but just curious.

Oceania is the Continent, Australia is just the biggest constituent country in it. Calling New Zealanders Australian is like Calling Canadians American.
Wow .. There is something about this thread ... People sure like rubbing stuff into the OP ...
You're right, that read as being harsher than I intended! I'm just a pedant who knows that poeple like where they come from to be properly recognised.

Yes and no.

We dont hate them, but it is definitly a sense of 'Us' and 'Them'.
We just don't like to think of ourselves as 'just European', probably stemming from the good old day of the empire...

That you are a European (I'm not sure what part of russia you're born in. If you're born in the part that's inside Europe, then you're european =P) speaking english and french, much like other europeans?

Or that you're a asian speaking english and french.

Nah, not really. We all get along quite good. To be honest, GB has been critisised for their support of the war in Irak. Not for the support in general but for the fact the asked a little to few questions.

And they still don't have the euro ;) ... but thats fine, I got a shippment from amazon.uk.co today with 2 games that cost me half of what I would have payed in germany ;)

I actually did consider having England be its own category and in retrospect it might have been a good idea to have done so but...well Ill get more into that when I reveal what my reasons for having the USA as its own poll option are.
Maybe the United kingdom not just England, Y'know It's not just one country.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I myself hate it when I talk to some Americans think that I live in "Norway, the capital of Sweden"

Allright. This is starting to become rather odd .. Why do so many around me say "ja"? Is there a reason for that, or? Do you just want to tout your norwegian-speaking-bilities? Allright, fine. You probably think of germany, but damnit. We use that too. =P

Also. Scotland is not the wierd uncle you just see at christmas. You see quite a lot of him at St. Patricks too =D
Oh, wait? I'm not allowed to make that joke? Damnit!

Yeah thats what I meant, I know technically England is only one part of the British Isles but its usually easier to just say England than the United Kingdom. Incidentally is Great Britain still used to refer to the UK and can the two terms be used interchangeably?

I claim this planet in the name of Mars.

Actually I hail from the frozen north...No, not that north. A bit lower, yes, right there, in the armpit of Russia. Hey everyone.

And yeah, they are three countries connected, Lithuania being at the bottom of the sandwich, Latvia in the middle (they get it the hardest) and Estonia being ON THE TOP!
On the top in everything, except population.
Now what is that squeaky voice I hear from down there? Oh, if it isn´t our beloved neighbour. And how are you doing today? Fancy meeting you here after all these drinks.

It's a slightly complicated issue really;

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all countries

Great Britain is the main island of the UK containing England, Wales and Scotland (aside from lots of very small islands) and is not the same thing as the UK

The UK is short for 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island' and is the sovereign state of England, Wales, Scotland and Nothern Ireland

I doubt using the term 'Great' would be valid anymore, it's just a throwback from the days of the good old British empire, but Britian still works, I don't reall mind having Britian refered to as England but I think a few people would object to it, there's a load of resentment in Britian, Englands bigger, richer and more well known.
