I know i am. I've loved each one from beginning to end, and i feel that this one won't be any different.

After all, a story is a story, and besides the serious Cluster Mind-Fuck throughout the whole thing, i've enjoyed it.

So yeah, who else is going to watch it?
You know what I am... not because I really want to see it, but my GF and I, on our first date, went and to see SAW 1... and so every year we go and see the next saw movie, or hire it, or buy it (depending on when they come out etc) on our anniversary...

Hey that's awesome! :)

I envy your anniversary program! :D

On the subject : Hell Yeah!
I love the series, the twisting story is something these other long series like Friday the 13th never possessed, and the torture I think is just a better method of pumping some adrenalin, rathe than just watch some big killer chase or suddenly appear in front of a character and stabbing them or killing them in various ways - here at the torture scenes you can fear for the life of the victims, they really could manage to escape and save their lives (and sometimes it happens) but the fact that every character has at least a little backstory about who he/she is, what did they do wrong in life, why Jigsaw thought they deserved punishment, and how everything is really connected and everyone is a piece of the big puzzle!
Rather than other film victims who just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
But I'll admit I wanted the series to end with VI it could have been like two trilogys and I really wanted to find out the ending of the story by now.

No. I don't watch, follow, or care about modern mainstream cinema.
Oh goody, look at you being all special!
Firstly, why do you claim not to do those things?
Secondly, haven't you seen stuff like the Matrix, Lord of the Rings or even Harry Potter? >.>

OT: No I'm not going to watch it. The entire series looks plain retarded from a side line :)

I didn't even know they made a Saw V, now VI? How many death traps does a person need?
Exactly. I knew about Saw IV, didn't know about Saw V. I liked only the first two movies, watched the third one only "by the way".

NO!

The first one was interesting with a heart of creativity that was slowly beaten down through the rigorous milking of Hollywood so they could achieve a nice big glass of money. I emphasive "interesting". Not good or even remotely watchable past an initial whim.

I know I'll see it. Despite the fact that the story has become a real mess and that:
Jigsaw is dead
I'll still end up watching the movie. I'm curious as to what traps they'll introduce next. The fifth Saw was interesting in that aspect.

Don't think i've ever seen the first Saw, but i've seen the 3rd and 5th one. Hated both of them, it's basically torture porn, and very unpleasant to watch. Now, i'm fine with gore, i devour warfilms and have seen countless guy's get their limbs blown off, guts erupting everywhere, bloody head shots and the like, wounds caused by a phosphorous grenade, guys burning to death, and i'm fine with it.
What i carn't stand is that the sole purpose of the Saw movies is just to watch someone struggle in pain in a very unrealistic situation, and probably die and painful death. To me, that is not entertainment, it's very unpleasant to watch. Rather like watching a fat guy take a dump.

Nope, 3 is enough for me. I refuse to go beyond 3 in any movie series, they just keep getting worse.

First of all no, I am not going to see the movies because I am a recluse and am afraid of the outside, and also because they aren't very good. The first movie was awful, and while I will say 2 and 3 were marginally better I still didn't find them affective, it was just a bunch of people stuck in devices that were complicated as hell and that usually ended with the camera switching to spaz o vision and turning something that could have been marginally scary into a bloody hilarious snuff film. Meanwhile the plot was fairly typical trapper fair (I would say slasher but he doesn't really slash anyone, he traps them.) of course the series does have some big balls to kill off the titular character in the third movie and have an individual inspired by his teaching continue his psychotic work... Oh wait they don't, they kill him off but it seems like he is still planning the events of movies that take place a considerable time after his death going so far as to swallow a tape recorder for the coroner to find, and the best part is that all of these scenarios are really one scenario. I have never seen the killer have a contingency plan. Is he god? That is the only conclusion, the Jigsaw killer is god and knows all that will ever happen.

But now I would like to take a moment to critique the slasher movies in general, they don't have to be bad, in fact they could be scary as hell but more on that later. The big issue is that the writers seem to have such a hard on for their slasher they make him into some sort of executioner, slaying the wicked and unlikable characters, and in a way we almost root for him, and if you are rooting for a person to kill a teenager because said teenager is a shithead that is not good horror. The real tragedy is that these movies could be really scary. If you had a decent relatable character with friends who weren't shitheads being stalked over a period of time by the killer it would be pretty fucking scary. Imagine him decapitating our protagonist's parents and leaving their bloody heads on the foot of her bed. Then when it is time to make the kill our hero runs but the killer doesn't care he just methodically pursues her, until at least he makes the kill. These movies could be scary but they aren't and that is sad, and Saw is the biggest offender because the entire concept is that he kills bad people therefore it is kind of hard to sympathize. "Oh no the Jigsaw killer is going to kill the pedophile... wait. Is that a good thing? Hooray Jigsaw!"

I just saw it the other night (It's released in Australia first; wooo, go us), and went in not expecting much seeing as I had already noticed the decline in quality for each Saw film. However, I actually quite liked it. I'm not going to spoil it, but I liked the traps in this one (the final one in particular), the story actually approached something along the line of "making sense", and I really did not expect the twist. The characters were more-or-less stupid and one dimensional as per usual, which is fair enough, given I paid good money to see them getting their just-desserts, rather than wanting them to escape. All in all a step up from what I'd seen in the previous movies.

I've seen Saw VI and I must say that it's better than the last 2. By no means actually a good movie yet (decent and watchable though) it at least explained a few things and the final twist was good and unexpected (as opposed to the last couple). Doesn't stack up the the original (which is still by far the best) but it's ok, I'm kind of just watching them out of habit seeing as I've seen all since 3 in the cinemas and I can't say I'll be sad to see it finish... Eventually.

I just didn't find them scary. AH DEMAND SCAWRY EN MAH GAWD-DAMN SCAWRY MOOVEES!

Frankly just was disgusting. I'm honestly trying to be as open-minded as possible, but I simply don't see the appeal in watching horrific mutilations of the human body with little or no scare-value. Probably just me.
Watch it with your girlfriend and you'll see the appeal ;)
That is EXACTLY why I saw Saw III.
