I just finished watching G4s coverage of the Sony Spotlight, and it was awesome. I always thought, what Sony could do Microsoft could do better. However that doesn't seem to be the case. I really want to play Infamous, Uncharted, Resistence 2, Heavy Rain, Mod Nation Racer, and God of War. I'm on the fence and need outside opinions. Now i dont plan on getting rid of my 360 b/c of games like Mass Effect 2, and Halo. So....um, thoughts?

If you like those games, then sure go ahead. Keep your 360, and own both consoles. That way you won't miss any big name games that come out (and will have a back up in case your 360 dies).

If you already have a 360 then no, you shouldn't. They're basically the same thing with a few exclusives here and there.

If you got the mulla to own both thats what I would do but if you don't then it all depends on what your likes are. I mean are you going to miss some good exclusive content that comes out on Xbox live? That said it would be kick ass to have a Blue-Ray player. Make up your own mind and don't listen to what assholes on forums have to say but then you wouldn't listen to me and create a paradox that will rip a hole through time.

I'm only saying yes because I promised myself that I won't play FFXIII unless I play its graphics at there full potential...that means not on the xbox 360...

get a 60 gig though. then you can play the old PS titles
Doesen't that work for all of them?
The 60 and the 20 gigs are the only models that are fully backwards compatable. The 40 has no backwards compatability and the 80 and 160 are 60% backwards compatable with an internet connection

I own all three but am usually found on the 360 because it has more games I like to play. When a multiconsole game is released I generally tend to lean towards the 360 because I have a pretty decent gamerscore going and I prefer the controller on the XboX to the Triple Shock or whatever they're calling the PS3 controller now.

But ultimately it's up to you and your tastes as to how you should spend your money. Now give me my pudding.

The early 80GB versions were, the new ones are exactly the same as the 40GB but with a bigger hard drive.

I'd say you should make a list of exclusives, and if the list is big enough to seem like a good deal, go for it.

I personally have a PS3, and am quite happy about it. Though I can't buy games very often so it grows a small dust layer every few weeks.

What does that mean??
All PS3s can play PS1 games, as far as I know only the 60gb, the 80gb (with Motorstorm), and I think one or both of the launch SKUs can play PS2 games. None of them require an internet connection for their BC

If you really want to play those games specifically (can't blame you; though I'm not really looking forward to Heavy Rain myself), yea get one.

Wait a few months/after summer as apparently a slim PS3 will be coming out by then.
But yeah, get a PS3. I know a 360 owner whose had access to one for a few months and now when he uses the PS3 he can't stop saying "Damn, this is a real game console". Just little things like it's considerably better streaming speeds makes it so good. If you've got a good PC you can convert and stream movies in any format straight to your PS3. So very useful.
Thanks for the advice. I had no idea they were making a slimer one.
