Where do you get the demo?
I bought the Japanese Cloud Black PS3-Advent Children Complete/FF13 trial set [http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/20090119/acc.htm].
Oh. I thought you had gotten it in English. I really can't get into things if I have no idea whats happening.
I don't thing Square Enix is going to be releasing the demo in English, not unless they do the same thing as they did in Japan and sell a copy of Advent Children Complete that comes with the demo.

And heh, I'm so used to playing games in Japanese that I get weirded out trying to play in English now. I just bought a copy of Bioshock, and I haven't started it yet because I'm trying to decide if I want to play it in English or Japanese.

Speak for yourself; I like my Blu-ray already and a guy at my job who is a PC gamer is thinking about getting a PS3 just because it's a Blu-ray player as well.

If you already have a 360 then you should be fine, if you really want to though then go ahead. Frankly I don't see much reason for people to buy a PS3 or 360 if they already have the other one, Wii owners are a different story.

Both systems are great.

The only difference I see is that PS3 sucks at online play. XBL is still far better in that territory. I'm sorry, but PSN just sucks regardless of it being free or not.

So if you want to play online with friends, keep the 360 if they have one as well.

Besides, there is more to the 360 than just Halo and Gears of War. Other than that, all the good games are multiports save for a few exclusives anyway. I bought BioShock when it USED to be a 360 exclusive. That is until the PS3 fan boys bitched and wanted it. (I blame fanboys not the console itself.)

I never really found Killzone 2, Resistance 2, and MGS4 really appealing. I mean, they are great games, but not what I call "must haves." God of War...hmm maybe, but it is no different than a normal hack and slash game.

Blu-ray...is not really that good yet. Some will say it is, but as Yahtzee says it is not that much of a leap to truly call it a step up. It's like going from floppies to zip drives. Zip disks were floppies only they held 100 times the memories of a normal floppy. Same with Blu-ray. Same as HD-DVD, only they hold more memory.

The RROD is rare now and hardly ever happens. Besides PS3 have disk drive errors as well which makes playing games impossible on them. I have only had the RROD once and got my Xbox back in less than 10 days with a free month of XBL. So it was cool.

So both systems are good.

I just finished watching G4s coverage of the Sony Spotlight, and it was awesome. I always thought, what Sony could do Microsoft could do better. However that doesn't seem to be the case. I really want to play Infamous, Uncharted, Resistence 2, Heavy Rain, Mod Nation Racer, and God of War. I'm on the fence and need outside opinions. Now i dont plan on getting rid of my 360 b/c of games like Mass Effect 2, and Halo. So....um, thoughts?
I own both

owning both is always better

so yes

Go for it man.
I don't see the idea in not owning a console if it sports the attractive games you want on it.
And you can play Blu-ray movies (assuming you don't have a player already).

I own the three big home consoles and my PS3 probably gets the most playtime, with the 360 and Wii being tied for second. Or perhaps the Wii is in third since they've released crap forever.
Except FFIV: The After Years which I've been playing.

If you can have both why not? This way you don't miss out on any exclusives and can play with any of your friends on both consoles!

I personally don't think it's worth buying two consoles because most games are multiplatform but for those exclusives you mentioned it might be worth buying a PS3 if you have some cash lying around. If you want it then get it.

Not since Wipeout HD came out. Fucking hell, I'd forgotten how awesome the Wipeout (or should that be WipEout?) is/was. Plus, two player split-screen play! Just like the good-old days!

Best of all, if you plug the other guy's controller in, the old tactic of "rip the 2nd controller out and overtake" will still work! Retro Gaming at its finest!

I think Wipeout HD has shot down the 360. Everyone I know wanted it because of nostalgia, and in truth a few of us (myself included) expected to be disappointed... but what we got was so awesome that the only 'flaws' we can find are ones an outsider would find rather stupid (ie: that Piranha ships handle like Quirex ones used to, or that AG-systems ships aren't made of tissue paper anymore).

But, that said, my gaming circle grew up on NES and Master System, learned to read via Phantasy Star / Final Fantasy wall-of-text encounters and graduated from the Streets of Rage school of Hard Knocks... so maybe the PS3 is just more awesome for old school gamers.

...and the fact that WipEout is 'old school' now actually makes me want to cry...

the only thing that changes is the exclusives and Blu-ray player that nobody uses anyway.
When I got a PS2, nobody used DVDs...

Yeah, look how that turned out. I wouldn't write off Blu-ray just yet; every trip to HMV makes the Blu-ray collection all the more tempting.
Wipeout HD will hardly make a difference in the console war.

I have both Xbox 360 and the PS3 and love them both. PS3 doesn't have the games the 360 has but I'm sure that will change fairly quick just as it has in the past. But I can't say where I could choose between the 2, both of them have their strong points and weaknesses but neither has a strong advantage over the other. I'd say get a PS3 because, well if anything it's a blue ray player on top of an excellent console.

Na, you probably souldn't. Bu, if there's a good few games you want, or you want to get Blu-Ra movies, by all means do.

get a 60 gig though. then you can play the old PS titles
Doesen't that work for all of them?
No, Sony removed the Emotion Chip so psx and ps2 games can only play on the new ps3s using an emulator. I guess it saved them fifty dollars for everyone sold without the chip.

Step 1:
Get a cute puppy
Step 2:
Walk it by the beach
Step 3:
Get the numbers of all the bikini wearing girls who run over and say "Ooooh what a cute little puppy!"
Step 4:
Go on a date, be charming
Step 5:
Have sex, use protection
Step 6:
Rinse and repeat.
Or get a ps3

entirely upto you

the thing that made me get one was its games and free online

as i have a very anti-pay2play view on games i allready spent fucking 40 odd quid on you i dont want to then find out that i have to pay extra just to play online (with a bunch of sexually frustrated 13 yr olds shouting abuse at each other)

( i would like to state at this point that ok whatever 360s online might be better but frankly that is piss weak excuse )

its not that much better anymore.

Resistance 2 is... meh. Just another shooter, nothing new. But if you are really into shooters...

I would say the same for Killzone 2, it is graphically AMAZING, but (for me), just another shooter.

inFamous is OK, but it is not all that the critics have made it out to be. I think Prototype will be the better game, but that is just an assumption based on my feelings for inFamous as I obvously haven't played Prototype yet. (my thread about it here http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.116793?page=1 )

You also didn't mention Little Big Planet, that is definately worth getting.

I've had a 360 for a long time now and only recently got my PS3. I got it when Circuit City went out of buisness for 40% off (couldn't pass it up). Having owned it now for a few months, my play time is about 10/1 in favor of my Xbox. None of the PS3 exclusives have really held my interest. And any cross platform games I usually get on the Xbox due to my friend base there.

However, God of War 3 should be epic and I am very glad I have my PS3 if only for that one reason.

I know I didn't give you a resounding buy/don't buy... but maybe this info will be helpful.

I'm only saying yes because I promised myself that I won't play FFXIII unless I play its graphics at there full potential...that means not on the xbox 360...
Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but it seems like Sony have a problem with running games in 1080p. I would assume that Final Fantasy XIII, just like the rest of the PS3 games won't be available in 1080p.

Therefore, you'll get the best picture you can from FFXIII on a XBOX 360, which has majority of it's titles being able to run in 1080p
