Poll: Standard size or Widescreen?

Widescreen. And after my best friend, my roomate, and my parents saw my monitor, they all had to have one also. Not sure if I even know anyone anymore with a CRT display.

CRT doesn't really have anything to do with this discussion. There are plenty of standard size LCD (flat)screens.

Standard for my pc, widescreen for my current laptop. I like standard better, widescreen is just a standard with the top chopped off.

My computer screen is standard, but my TV is 16:9, I prefer widescreen.

The last standard-ratio desktop screens (iMac G4) were dropped in 2004. The last standard-ratio laptop screens (iBook, 12" Powerbook) were dropped in 2006. Everything after that is widescreen.

Back on topic, my desktop display is 24", 1920x1200, about four years old, and still easily beats current cheap LCDs in contrast, color and whatnot. Barring technical malfunction (and what would cause one on a display?), I won't need another display for years to come. When it comes to displays, it's a lot better to spring for a good one rather than upgrade through a series of bad ones which cost the same combined and never give you the same quality.

Two widescreens, a 24" Acer (which i bought for the hdmi-port so i could use my PS3 with it) and a 20" Dell, one of the first widescreen displays at all. Funny enough, i use it as 2nd screen rotated by 90° atm, so it's a 10:16. Just awesome for reading documents and most websites.

HHmmm... I'm not sure if my laptop is widescreen, but I will say it is. I also have a nice widescreen monitor but it is on a shitty computer in my house and isn't used.

Oh, okay, I was just going by the fact that every school laptop I've used it a standard ratio.
