Poll: Standard size or Widescreen?

Thankfully, widescreen is becoming the standard. I don't understand how people can prefer full screen for movies; gaming is another thing altogether, and this is not the gaming forum, so that's my stance.

Widescreen. It just feels more natural to me.

Standard. I'm old fashioned. Widescreen cuts the top and bottom of your picture off and it looks messed up.

Standard cuts off the sides of your picture, especially with movies. That's why there's always that message on standard movies that says the film has been formatted to fit your screen. They have to chop the image to make it fit.

I had a quick question for the community. How many of you use a standard size monitor and how many of you use a wide-screen monitor?

Also, do you plan on buying a widescreen in the near future?

My monitor is standard size, but my fiancee's right next to mine is widescreen. I had to vote standard but we have both in the same room. My TV is 16:9.

I just got out of college and since I'm no longer bound by a laptop, I invested in an HP with a widescreen display and it's awesome. Strange resolution (1600x900) but it works very, very well.

I use a widescreen monitor and long for the day that all websites use the full width rather than wasting all the space down the sides!
