My Prom is coming up and half my friends are wearing casual suits and half are wearing expensive tux's so what is the escapists view on this? What did you wear to your prom?

If you suit it up, go for black/blue shirt with complimentary suit and trousers. You can get away with murder if you do it properly and look devilishly handsome to boot. Though do it yourself, if its a rent-a-suit it tends to look pretty bad.

If you want all the hassle of that taken away from you, hire a tux. It may be more expensive, but it should fit like a charm, and all things like style and correct cut will be auto included.

You should defenatilly wear a tuxedo.

Failing that, a tuxedo. But only if you absolutely cannot get a tailcoat.

Bleh, I think men look ridiculous all dressed up, particularly young men. I wouldn't even let the groomsmen wear suit jackets at my wedding. But, of the two, I say suit.
