Surely if you've been in a relationship where you start to have sex, in about a month you've had sex more than ten times? At least, teens/young adults would? Doesn't that mean the poll is just going to end up being a majority split between 0 and 10+ between both sexes?

Yes, and it looks like it's heading that way. The 0 (and everything in between) pretty much includes people who have never been in a committed sexual relationship (or people who don't pay close attention to what they read). So, it's pretty much split evenly between girl virgins and boy virgins, and girls in relationships versus boys in relationships. Therefore, we can postulate that technically on a simple straight forward immature way of looking at it, girls can get laid just as easily as boys. Technically speaking.

I imagine a better poll would be "Are you a virgin over the age of 18?" and have categories for both men and women.

that would be a slightly better way, except that polls here mean nothing, i can vote female virgin there while being male with +100, no way to check is there. even on anonymous polls people lie and troll.

-there are alot of virgins here, over 30% of people who voted
-atleast 5% of people dont read threads/polls correctly ... (or play on their phone or xbox apparently)
-more than 10% of people have ever had a sexual relationship

this is all this poll proves, everything else is statistically insignificant or prone to error

That way, we can ignore "players" who would brag about sleeping with 10 different women or alleged "sluts" who might fudge their own number of sex partners. If you've only had sex ten times with ten different people, it would pale in comparison to someone in a committed relationship who has had sex countless times, if you're looking at raw numbers.

But surely for the sake of finding out who can get laid easier, you want to know how many guys/girls are successful players? After all, we could all probably find one person who's lonely and desperate enough to get into a relationship with us and once you've seduced someone once you usually don't really need to try that hard the next time(s), especially if you're in a relationship.

Would have thought the real test would be getting successfully seducing multiple people?

That's weird. Not even at the beginning of a relationship? When my current boyfriend and I first got together we were kind of ridiculous, I'm amazed we managed to get up to go to work.

^This. Don't really get the point of this thread, anyone who's been in at least a 1 month relationship will have had sex more than 10 times... If you were doing an underage poll, I'd get it, something like 13-18, but for anyone over 18, the point is pointless.

I met my wife in a text based rpg. I lived in Maryland, she lived in Florida. You're right, though. I assume that most of the people posting here play video games. If you do that, its not that hard to find someone to connect with. Games provide the perfect pretext for a relationship, and if not the game itself, you have forums, conventions, guilds, whatever. Just put yourself out there.

There are 7 billion people on this planet. I promise that its not difficult to find someone. Regardless of your situation.

I never really understand the worlds fixation with sex. Like virginity is a dirty word.
This obsession is making kids who are already "chemically unstable" due to the influx of hormones think it is bad to stay a virgin after 17/18 years.

Don't mean to worry you there, but you might want to get that checked out. I've been in a few sexual relationships and I've not had this problem, except with one girl who suffered from a rather personal medical condition.

I'm not saying you have that same problem, but unless the guys you have been sleeping with were all excessively 'well hung' or excessively rough, that seems a bit weird to me.

I'm willing to argue 2 points - one is the fact that those answering between 1 to 5 made the mistake that a few posters here have had, and that was misinterpreting the question

the second is the fact this data is skewed monumentally by ignoring two major factors, age and relationship status. These factors can be controlled for by asking the right questions e.g. frequency of sexual activity in couples in stable relationship per x time frame for example - with more detailed instructions included. All this poll is revealing (by accident) is that there are virgins out there on the escapist (...oh really? )

Your first point is valid but any poll is going to have a margin of error.

As to your second, if a rough percentage of male vs female virgins is part of what you're looking for, it's not a failure to find it. If you think you can do better the forums are open to throw up your own competing super-scientific sex poll done the "right" way. I'm sure someone will come along soon to offer helpful suggestions like you did here.

I kind of understand the whole religious not wanting to have sex until your married thing, but not wanting to have sex even in a stable and loving marriage is something I have never heard of before. Now I am curious. I mean there are a few asexual/nonsexual people on the escapist but I hadn't considered that they were in long term relationships. You know, that... wouldn't surprise me. If it's not a physical condition it may be a psychological condition; my last two boyfriends dumped me for not putting out enough (that's a harsh way of putting it but it's what it boiled down to) so it has been a concern for me anyway.

Needed to go to my local clinic to have a talk with them about options since coming off of the pill so I'll bring it up. Thanks for flagging that for me, it hadn't really crossed my mind before!
