I don't see why it's frowned upon. They're just words people.
Yes, but like all words it's what they represent.

Say, in real life, I come up to you and say 'God, you're such a loser, why not go off and die?', would you be affected by that? Haha! They're just words! Of course you shouldn't be affected by them! I'm just causing the air to vibrate in such a way that the air resonates in your ear, and the vibrations of the varuious bits and bobs in your ear cause you to hear that! You shouldn't feel bad at all!

Of course, that was both a sarcastic and extreme example. What I was getting at was that yes, they're just words, but some things you just don't want to hear, because they represent different things. Like swearing, for example: to me, it shows a lack of intelligence and respect.
I get what you're saying but the thing is shit is another word for poo. Poo's not in any way offensive. When I say 'they're just words' I mean that they are. Whereas, what you were saying would be offensive because it's a sentence which is supposed to offend.

If I'm quoting something or trying to stress a point or in those cases when just no other word will do, I'll cuss. But to just use it casually in everyday conversation, it just seems crass and uncivilized.

I really need to stop. When I was 13 I actually never swore, now I swear a bit to much.

Only when extreme emphasis is required.

Actually I wrote an essay in English class about this.

"Profanity and the english langauge: The case for extreme emphasis"

When I feel I need to.
I feel that swaring all the time takes away the significance of it, so there's no point in using the word if it's not reserved for when things are seriously wrong.

I probably could not get through the day without cussing it's just part of my culture it was how you talked to fit in a habbit I tried to drop as I got older but it just stuck. Then again I dont see the big thing some people make about it sure its maybe no too polite but its the context that makes the word offensive not the word itself, and I dont buy the poor man's volcabulary argument either I know plenty of words just none of them are as good as fuck off.
But if I used the word 'fuck' or 'fuck off' in every sentance, would it be half as offensive? 'Oh, there goes Nmil-ek! Fuck off, you say? And a howdy-doo to you too!' The ting is, phrases like 'fuck off' are only effective if they're used sparingly. That way, you know you're in trouble.

So why not say 'poo'? The fact is, swearing (in everyday language) is really just a lack of respect or education, and in many cases probably both.

How the fuck did this end up being a quote for me? I think you fucked up your quotes there buddy. Fix it.
Because I wanted you to sound far more intelligent that you are, and make people say stuff what I say, all grammary like.

...Yeah, fucked up quotes.

And, was the irony of having the word 'fuck' in a shortish post in a thread about swearing intentionall? I imagine so...

If I'm with friends then yeah, all the time. They're just words and we arn't offended by them. If I'm on the internet I'll use stars (f**k yeah!) unless I REALLY want to make a point and if I'm in a nice resteraunt or such place I don't.
