manna, pure energy, electricity, something like that.

or metal, metal works. but what happens if you combine them? well, it would be hard, yet malleable, cold, yet warm... holy shit... silly... putty! silly putty!

According to Avatar: TLA, spirit is the last element. By bending the spirit, you can remove someone's element-bending powers.

God I feel so ashamed for knowing that.

Edit: But then, according to Shamalyamadingdong, the 5th element is caucasian actors playing asians.

If we're talking about Aristotiles' elements I thought it was 'life force' or something vague like that. If we're talking about actual elements in physics, it depends how you number them: the most logical choice would be Boron, because it's core has five protons, giving it atom number 5. You can also see 'the 5th element of nature' as the 5th most common element on earth, which is sulfur.

I'm very disappointed to see that "Surprise" is not an option.
He obviously is acting incautiously when confronting a little bald wrinkly smiling man.
You're now my hero for saying that.

Time.
Followed by Space.
I'm pretty sure some alchemist ages ago already decided this, but years of no schoolin' have left me unbelievably ignorant of everything.
shit, you're right. and time is an element, because without time, space never could have formed, nor could fire water earth or air. everything exists inside time. time is neverending, as even nothing has an age. if the world ended today, time would still exist elsewhere. time is forever. space eventually ends, it is just so unthinkably gigantic that we can't find the end. time, though, has existed since the galaxy was just a dot of almost nothing.

Yeah, you see?
Monkfish is right again.
Everyone should listen to me, I know what for.

Seriously, though, that's pretty much the same train of thought I was on.
Except yours was much less broken up by baby animals.
Damn baby animals. Invading my every thought.
...
I just thought of a baby grizzly bear.
Damn it.

Also as a side note the sixth element is flesh
