I'll have to agree with master of puppets for the poll but what about 'Enter Sandman'? Yeah not their 'hardest song' to date but it was friggin catchy, stayed in my head for weeks.

None of the above. The only Metallica songs I really like anymore are No Leaf Clover, Whiskey in the Jar, Turn the Page, and Astronomy.

Eye of the Beholder, the vocal mixing is great. It would be Seek & Destroy, but whatever, I guess nobody cares for Kill 'Em All anymore );

for gods sake, pretty much the only decent ALBUM (listen to me fanboys) is the black album

they do good songs but there are usually about 2 good songs per album or less imo

the black album has enter sandman, sad but true, nothing else matters and my all time favourite the unforgiven. Whats more these are my favourite 4 songs by metallica. yet NONE of these are mentioned. I am sickened.

WHAT THE FUCK!!! while the black album is very good, have you even heard ...And Justice for All, Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning, their three best albums by far, they had songs like ride the lightning, for whom the bell tolls, fade to black, trpped under ice, creeping death, call of ktulu, battery, master of puppets, sanitarium, Disposable heroes, orion, leper messiah, blackened, one, eye of the beholder, frayed ends of sanity and Dyers eve.

please explain how these songs are any worse than the songs on the black album, because they are very similar!

It came down to Master of Puppets and One......then I remembered that Tenacious D wrote a song about the best song in the world called "Tribute" and it was about One and all was right with the world

Yeah, I sort of expected this. I'm more outraged that my favourite songs weren't on the list...

Yes I have heard those albums and for the most part I don't enjoy them as much. Call of kthulu I like and I'm learning to play it with my friend. Obviously Master of Puppets is good to hear live too. For whom the bell tolls is nice. But from a critical standpoint, the albums weren't good. Reviews I get from Q magazine say that the black album is pretty much their only good album and I have to say that I agree with them.

Oh, and one is very fun to play on Guitar hero 3...

Plus can we not bring up similarity in metal because my friends who hate me listening to metal say that its rubbish because it all sounds the same and I always argue against ANY metal being the same (except for mastodon, that is just one song over and over again). So basically I'm bored of arguing that topic.

(p.s. my mastodon hatred is based off the incredibly boring half hour I saw them live supporting metallica, when all my energy was spent trying to ignore them... also most of the best recieved songs were the black album ones... except for master of puppets, that was definitely a favourite)

no... where did you get this information from? This would be surprising because I don't think tenacious d are that metally (despite the song "the metal"). I heard it was stairway to heaven.
