*Sigh* Another poll, another vote-avoidance.

I understand that there are limits to how many options you can have in a poll, so it came to no surprise to me when I found that this poll contained a grand total of ZERO of my favourite Metallica songs.

That isn't to say the ones in the poll aren't good. Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) and Master of Puppets are both fantastic, but my favourite Metallica songs are, as follows, and in no particular order:

Fade to Black

The Four Horsemen

I Disappear

Welcome Home (Sanitarium)

The Memory Remains

King Nothing

With special mentions for Whiskey in the Jar and So Fucking What?! as Metallica didn't write them. Also, So Fucking What is hilarious.

I just find them a bit generic and generic bands bore me nowadays.
Are you talking about modern day Metallica, or '80s Metallica?
Both. I'm not going to do the whole "imagine what they were like in their prime" thing as, you know, we're not in the time of their prime and by today's standards all of their styles are generic and boring.

*Shrug* If you find them boring that's your own opinion, I probably can't change that. But do you find all metal 'generic' and 'boring' or just 'thrash' metal?

It came down to Master of Puppets and One......then I remembered that Tenacious D wrote a song about the best song in the world called "Tribute" and it was about One and all was right with the world
no... where did you get this information from? This would be surprising because I don't think tenacious d are that metally (despite the song "the metal"). I heard it was stairway to heaven.
I would refer to Tenacious D as metal either but I have a very reliable source on the tribute song.

Nah. Nivag really got me into folk-metal and battle-metal. The only standard metal sub-genre I like is Power.

Ah well. At least you sound like you've given them a chance.
