Well then people are completely missing the purpose of this thread! Apparently instead of saying which genres of music we like, we're supposed to be saying why we hate all the other ones. I can't believe people could be so far from truth! Thank you for correcting our ignorance.

Hmm for alliances Rock and Heavy Metal aren't too far apart so they'd prolly form. Heavy Metal is also connected to Jazz and Classical.

I assume you mean a good one? Cuz there was that Wu-Tang: Shaolin Showdown on the PSX, and those Def Jam Fighting games more recently, too. They were all pretty crap, though.

I personally do not qualify any of the Def Jam games as fighters, especially the first one (which was through and through a wrestling game, and I classify FfNY and Icon more as "Brawlers"). And I meant the soundtrack having hip-hop sounding themes, not actual licensed songs (which is all well and good, of course, but given the custom soundtrack capabilities of today's consoles, I can do all that myself). Closest thing I have right now is Cody's theme from Super Street Fighter 4.

I choose an alliance of metal and electro! Death metal, prog metal and thrash, combine with the lovely sounds of electro-industrial, DnB, and erm, Deadmau5! (I would have said tech house, but it'd be a little out of place for me to say that when Deadmau5 is the only example I've listened to)

I'm with you. Nothing beats metalcore and death metal for me, but dubstep and drum-and-bass come up a close second.

I honestly can't decide. I enjoy good lyrics and there are several songs that I enjoy with entirely different genres. I can say that I wouldn't like it much if Country music won, so I suppose I would cheer for either rock or Electro/techno.
