Dante, in a video game, is a knight who goes to kick ass and chew bubble gum. BUt since he's wrong, he automatically fails.
Just like if someone took A Song of Ice and Fire and made a movie that ignored all the political intrigue. It fails by ignoring the original.

oh hell yes, im some magical being from under the artic ice that was spawned from ellen ripley and james bond. WHAT THE F*** DO YOU THINK? you know when you get hit with your own motorcycle flying at 60 mph after a geo side swipes you in the interstate, yeah, theres gonna be injuries. they werent as bad as they damn well could have been, but there were injuries.

however, just because a character has been stabbed and hit with a motorcycle doesent mean shit. dantes attitude isnt nearly as bad ass as duke nukems or even a lot of other characters for that matter. and i chastize 3 espically for turning an otherwise bad ass character into a arrogant little *****. now yes, dante is a bad ass, but the argument is BIGGEST bad ass and thats duke nukem.

sure they are comic characters, but both have made it into game form numerous times... wolvie has going back to the largely forgotten x-men overhead scrollier even made apperances in 3 spiderman games aside form his own....


and the chanucklehead is pretty bad ass in any form.

It fails, because Dante was learning a lesson in humility and faith, not in ass-kickery.
