It's not so much that the costume looks stupid, it just becomes rather silly when presented in Nolan's "realistic" Batman universe.
I'm sure they could've come up with a more realistic catburglar/thief outfit, but I guess they wanted to do a call back to the old Adam West show.

Yeah I am going to go do that.

No I was talking about Arkham City also not the original poster. The major point being I think there are bigger things to worry about then High heels in Arkham city.
Ah, I misunderstood you then, apoligize.

It's just that high heels on something else than party-wear would look a bit strange in Nolans Batman.
I can see that.

I agree, she looks cheesy as hell, especially with those completely unnecessary goggles hanging on her head like that, looking like cat ears. That's really fucking clever, Mr. Nolan.
Here's an idea. Why not have the front of her goggles shaped like cat ears as well, so that regardless if she's using the goggles, or if they're just hanging on her head, she'll always look like she has cat ears on-

Oh, you've got to be kidding me.

Yes, this post is nit-picky and petty and pointless.

You know what's worse? This:

Even putting aside the impracticality of a "disguise" that does basically nothing to hide your appearance/identity, how fucking lame is that mask/ears combo?

It's not as bad as, say, this:

but still nowhere near as sweet as

I know this is a really unnecessary and trivial thing to complain about here, but does anyone honestly think Nolan's cat woman doesn't look completely stupid?
It's a subjective judgement based on aesthetic values? So in a real way, it is just you, but others may well agree.

I don't, It's fine, she's a thief not a fetish model.

I really like the look they're going for in the film. It's less gimp suit and more cute cat, which may not be practical as a disguise but still appeals to me aesthetically.

I prefer whatever that version is with white hair, but I think she's from Marvel instead since she hangs around with spiderman to m memory.

I like it, at least she looks like she is going to fight something rather than go to a bondage club.

OT: It's a leather catsuit, and the 'ears' look like the goggles she has on in another screen cap. It looks fine.

We're two films into the trilogy, I don't think 'realist interpretation' needs to be explained any more.
Actually I'm pretty sure we're three films into the trilogy.

Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises...
Yeah, two of which are released.

It could have been worse I suppose. It has no real merit, but there isn't much you can really complain about without it sounding petty. All in all, the only thing that matters is her performance in the movie.

Hey everyone complaining, remember who else you were relentlessly bitching about for both appearance and acting ability before you even saw the film? Ledger's Joker. Remember how that one turned out?

Fyi, the ears are just a bit of the mask pulled back. And the critics who saw the advanced screening have done nothing but praise this iteration of Selena Kyle. So maybe we should wait to see the movie before we start criticising endlessly, huh?

Well to be fair Batman's costume in Nolan's films has always looked quite awful too, I mean just look at it, does it even look like Batman?

No of course it doesn't, it's probably the fact that it looks like an armor, but even the mask seems all wrong, let's face it the costume is just awful, it still didn't stop me from liking the previous films, but yeah, though to be fair I just don't like Christian Bale as Batman, I mean that voice so stupid.

And I'm not a fan of Bane's costume either, so I'm just going to assume that whoever makes the designs for Dark Night Rises is awful at designing super-hero costumes.

Sure the person wearing is obviously being silly, but he looks way more like Batman than the Nolan version
I liked the new Batman suit it's the best looking suit in a movie, no bat nipples and way better then that black rubber in the early movies that kept the actor from even turning his head.

The only thing I dislike about the suit is the mask, it looks like something you'd grab at a dollar store for Halloween but I'm willing to live with the mask sense the rest of the outfit is good.

Thanks GOD, an appropriate thread to ask this in! Why is she called Catwoman?
...That's a joke right? For the same reason Batman is called Batman. They dress like their respective animals. She is also a cat burglar.
