Well seing as someones already nicked my assistant poll idea DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!! *ahem* sorry, Ill jump straight to the villain one. Points are awarded for whatever you feel like so vote for which ever you like.

oh and I know most of those only appear in one episode but if you think about it, the doctor has very few regular enemies

Daleks.

Especially on worlds with perfectly flat terrain and all the buildings have lifts in them.

The doctor (in the new series anyway) states that the Daleks are his oldest and greatest enemies, the Master is more of a insane Rival then an actual nemesis imo but...

This... something you can't kill, that's patient AND is hellishly creepy!

I thought of the Daleks first, but I think The Master has the edge. Being a fellow Time Lord means his relationship with The Doctor is far more complex than the other villans.

The weeping angels are awesome but the Daleks do remain the Doctors greatest enemy.

That said, part of me does hope that we don't see anymore of the Daleks this series. They do seem a little overused these days...

Though, to follow a similar trail of thought to FinalDream: poor pacing.

The Doctors greatest enemy is the Daleks, enemies of the TimeLords.

The angels are great villains but hardly his nemesis (and can be outsmarted by a bunch of whiny kids).

we've already seen them (episode 3) with a facelift and they seem to be set to reappear.

Strange how the first time I saw a Dalek I was thinking "what... seriously? THIS is supposed to be a nemesis?" but they sort of grow on you later

The Daleks baby! We are never defeated, we always come back in some shape and form. (Though could someone explain to me what the hell they did with the dalek designs? They look so bloody retro to me.)

Count me in as well for doubting the Daleks as a threat. First time I saw the epsiode called "Dalek" I pretty much scoffed at the thing, thinking that there was no way this thing could ever be a threat till it broke free and slaughtered everyone in sight with it's beam weapon.

If you watched the confidential inside episode afterwards you would have learned that the whole idea of the new daleks was to bring the retro ones back!

I don't get the BBC sadly at my apartment but that does explain why they went away from the heavy bronze and metal models to those almost plastic looking models they have now.

New series only? Gotta say Sontarans, since their episode(s) were the best of series 4. The Daleks and the Master are better villains on paper, but they've been shittily written in almost every appearance in the new series.

They're meant to look like the ones from the two 1960s movies with Peter Cushing that barely any sod's heard of.

Well, what they were really meant to do is up the merchandising revenue. Yay, multicoloured Daleks, gotta catch 'em all...

The daleks are so worn out as enemies now. They really need to be left off for a season or two. They're just so bland.

Im going with The Master, but the weeping angels were terrifying.

The possessive apostrophe: it's always got to have everything.

Or Time itself, which I think is the real killer in the Final Destination movies. Those kids aren't having premonitions, they're time travelling around a fixed point. I am not mental.

Daleks all the way. Sure, most of the others are some combination of ominous, scary, crafty, evil and all that jazz, but which of them just about wiped out the Time Lord race in a massive war that scarred time and space? Which of them managed to steal Earth? The Daleks you say? That's what I thought.

Plus they're by far the most iconic, possibly even more recognisable than any individual doctor.
