I'd fight if we were invaded since it is my home, only cowards would rather run than defend their home.

That's a tough one. Depends on the war, really. If it was a war like the one in Iraq I'd probably just skip it and run and hide; but if my country was in true jeopardy (like a WWIII scenario), I'd definitely go and fight.

Depends. If I was drafted but filled a non-combat position, I would go. If I actually had to fight people then I would avoid it at all costs.

I would do neither. I would stand and fight for my right to not give a shit about my country.

I'd run.
I'm not worth dying for my country, or any country.
It's the governments squabbles, not mine.

This.

Plus, I'm not very coordinated, and have very little stamina. I would not be a very good soldier.

That all depends on which country it is. If its my homeland of Belarus then I would go without complaint but if it's the United States, then I would flee to the nearest developed nation. Probably Canada since I've heard its pretty nice there as long as you have a hat.
I mean, why fight for a country that you would leave at the first sign that it fucked up too badly?

I'd laugh because I have asperger's and tell the discriminatory US military that I bet they'd wished they'd changed their policies.

Fuck America.
No matter where I was living, I wouldn't give it a second of thought - I'd move.

Countries mean nothing to me.
They're bits of land with paper saying what you can and can't do there.
Nothing worth dying for.
Pretty much this here. Assuming this is a few years in the future from now, I am not about to give up my company, my work and potentially my life because America got itself in another idiotic war. Now if I could be the strategist... I'd think about it maybe but otherwise let the Country rot for all I care.

If you run, you are a selfish coward, and possibly a murderer.

If you run, they draft someone else to take your place.
So you send someone else off to fight, just because you are a coward.

It would have to be a war that genuinely threatened the entire US,or by inaction the US would be condemning thousands or millions of others to death. If we were invaded, I'd go willingly. If some sort of mass genocide was instigated in some other country, I would willingly go. But I wouldn't go at all unless drafted. I'd never volunteer for the military. And if it would require me to fight for a cause I didn't completely agree with, I'd be escaping to Canada.

Who are we fighting? Why are we fighting?

If my country went to war, as in sought it out, then hell no, fuck you, and I'll go join the other side as soon as you issue my gun (unless they're as bad). If both sides are bad, then fuck you both, I'm leaving. If that's out of the picture, I'm going down, and I'm taking BOTH of you with me.

If the enemy is really bad, and invading us, then yes, I'll stop them.

I would definitely not fight in the military, but I'd be okay with civilian work (say, in a hospital or a sick bay).
Since there's no middle ground poll option, though, I chose "run and hide".

I would prefer to make the choice over whether fight for my country rather than being told that I have to. Dying because I made a choice that I knew could end my life is better than dying because somebody told me that I have to go and possibly die for my country.

Maybe you should add another choice on that there poll, say, conscientious objector (and don't quote that defective pile of nuts and bolts Bender at me).
I would not willingly go if someone tells me to go kill or die for their cause without my consent.
I'd say that giving consent to be killed or maimed and to take lives is a sight more important than even consent in sexual matters and I'm practically a wonk on that particular issue as it is.
It had better be a very good cause to get me to give up everything that I have and ever could have or to take that from others to get me to fight to the death over it. If a conflict can be resolved by gradually eroding the opposition's beliefs through art (any medium and every medium, even videogames)or simple conversation, it's no go for me. If it is just some natural resource, that's worth turning one's back on a country for unless one's country is in dire need. If it is for a nebulous, ill defined abstract concept such as 'Freedom', I'll likely want to fight whoever uses such words with me. Free knuckle sandwiches all around. They had best hope that there is free health care where ever and when ever they ran afoul of me.
Hmm. That might be worth fighting over and that's the way to fight. Ah,whatever happened to melee brawling outside of wrestling, videogames and sports riots? Does it always have to be guns and knives (and tanks and flamethrowers and missiles, etcetera), anyway? Can't wars be food fights or water gun battles...unless it is over food or clean water?

I could probably just jump ship to Nigeria if America gets too insistent on the Draft, anyway. Nigeria could probably benefit from another revolution right now, however, but a non-violent one. They don't need another armed conflict to wreck things up worse than they already are.
