Poll: The Escapist's Felings on GIF Avatars

I like gifs as avatars, in fact if all the gifs I had weren't too large, I would do a gif for my avatar. Also, there is no reason to be a dick about things as trivial as an avatar, you can be like me and dislike individual people because of how they act.

I think it's nice that people felt like putting in the effort to make GIF avatars.
They're not particularly hard, but at least they bothered.
Just makes me think they care more about it.

Well, you could always disable avatars if they REALLY bother you that much. Personally, I find them less offensive than annoying posts consisting of "First!", "STOP WHINING AND ENJOY THE GAME WHY DO YOU PLAY IT IF IT BOTHERS YOU?! lol wtfbbq j/k", or someone trying to insert a forced brony reference into an otherwise serious discussion. I also don't see why I would have to go out of my way to please you when volunteering my opinion on a free forum on a subject that might not even be related to you in the slightest. Although I suppose the point is moot given that I have an animated gif for an avatar and

I personally like a good gif, they're not distracting and can be quite funny.
(I saw someone having a little cat going "I sleep", "I hunt", "I eat", etc. That was awesome!)

On the other hand, as has been mentioned, some gifs are flashy and headache/seizure-inducing. That sort of practice, on the other hand is both obnoxious and inconsiderate. Epilepsy is a real thing, after all.

Gifs in general: Alright.
Obnoxious gifs: No, shoo! Shoo, I say!

OT: Everyone knows that the quality of a GIF is directly proportional to the size of one's penis.

I don't think I'll bother reading any more of your posts, if you can dismiss some of the more relevant posters points for such a stupid trivial reason you probably aren't worth talking to anyway.

See I came to that conclusion based on the content of your post, unlike you who has seen fit to judge people for one of the dumbest possible reasons.

some can be good and others can be bad. I think those which flow consistently without seeeming to restart are the best and ones with too much going on or arent smooth are pretty distracting. I obviously don't mind them, in fact, I'm more likely to look at an avatar that's a GIF or a really colourful still that stands out.
I guess I'm easily pleased by brightly coloured moving things?
