Oh yes, I think when it comes to such argument there can be a 'greatest'. You can't possibly say that Zynga has achieved more in the gaming world more than Valve or Rockstar. So the other two is 'greater'. It's very loose though, as there is no real way to measure achievements. So just cast your own opinion.

I wanted to have a list of noted RPG games by each developers, but the damn list is too damned long. Especially Square's.

BioWare for me. Don't get me wrong, the others are great but i just think BioWare tops them.

Well, I love Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts much more than any Western RPG series, and I love Western RPGs anyway as a general rule. So I'd have to go for Square Enix :)

Honestly it's a fight between Square, Ware and Isle. Other 4 are all filler.

Konami for Suikoden I and II and Vandal Hearts, ahh the golden days of scrappy graphics and epic soundtracks/scores (sic)

I'm tempted to say Obsidian since one of their games literally changed my life but that's just one game. Bioware on the other hand has made a few really fantastic games, so I guess I'll vote for them.

Maybe my vote will change back when Fallout New Vegas is released.

I gotta go for Bioware. I loved KOTOR, and Mass Effect (so far) has been the single most immersive and exciting game series I've ever played.

Yeah, i think i gotta agree with you on that one. They have some legendary games, which are revered by RPGamers.

My top-5:

1) Black Isle
2) Bioware
3) Troika
4) Bethesda
5) Obsidian

Bioware will overtake BI's position if they manage to come up with a suitably epic ending to the Mass Effect trilogy. Obsidian will lose its position if New Vegas sucks, but for now I still have faith in them.

Well I voted Other, that list is the ones that USED to make good RPGs.

Just waiting on some OTHER company to come along and floor that list!

I would say bioware, for Jade Empire, then i remeber they made Mass Effect and I'm not a big fan.

I think it's going to be a toss up between Atlus, For the excellent Megami Tensei Series and Square for FF6/4/3

I will only honor Square Enix for it's production, particularly, CG and Sound. Story is fine, since im an animefag.

But that's about it, Other than that, it's a tie between Bioware and Bethesda.

Uh, yeah, that's why I said 'ever'. A lot of companies up there still make great games, you know, other than Isle. But only because they're gone.

I'd say it's a choice between Bioware and Black Isle for me, and I gotta say Black Isle takes it. They were responible for bringing Fallout 1 & 2 into the world, and co-created the Baldur's Gate series (with Bioware).

Crap I forgot Konami. I loved Suikoden II! But the series overall wasn't very popular.
