I would miss it, but these days I mostly use the arrow keys to scroll about these days. So...Yes and no. I'd definitely miss it in most video games, since it's pretty much necessary for switching weapons in quite a few of 'em.

Try programming in DOS where you didn't even have cursors. You kids with your WYSIWIGS...

Actually...I remember being in University when Windows was announced. We used to program in Modula-2 using EDLIN.

Try typing out a 4000 line program with no edit functions except overwrite. That's why grind doesn't bother me. ;)

I have learned to adapt without one at work, as some of our comps don't have scroll wheels (either due to just being too old or broken/missing balls).

It's not easy, but the things one must do for a paycheck...

Some of the mice at my school don't have scroll wheels and good lord is it terrible. You take the scroll wheel for granted but boy do you miss it when it's gone.

I barely use mine on my laptop as it is. Hell, I have a mouse attached to my Laptop right now, but out of habit, I keep using the touch pad. I learned how to first use a computer with a scroll wheel, I think I can do it again.

It's like the computer's clitoris.

The worst thing in the world? Maybe even worse than no scroll wheel? Having one that jumps around when you use it.

Probably not all that much. My Mac scroll "ball" stopped working a while ago, but I just use the page up/page down buttons.

Though, I'm on my personal laptop right now, so I use the up/down arrow keys to scroll.

The scroll wheel isn't that important to my computer usage now.

Not at all! I regularly have to use 10-year old mice with only two buttons because my school is Cheap.

Oh yeah, and those mice still have trackballs.
