I was talking about this in the nintendo are you listening thread yesterday. Nintendo now realises people are stupid. You know those people that have never played a game before or think its for kids and then they suddenly see wii fit and its like wahhh shiny!

Stupid games for stupid people. But nintendo don't care because its making them money! So i reckon they will never ever get their rep back and no games on the wii except galaxy and brawl will ever be good.
Where the hell do you get the idea that accessible means stupid?
Just because someone has never held a controller in their life and therefore have no idea how to use it doesn't mean they lack intelligence. Just because a game is made that allows for people who have never held a controller in their life doesn't meant he game is stupid.
I use to be a Nintendo fanboy. Nintendo had such fantastic games back in the day and i mean fantastic! But now when anyone wants to buy a wii game now the only games you can find are millions of the same party games that are just childish, with controls that do not work and are just terrible in every aspect!

Its not about people not playing games before its the fact that nintendo are only reaching out to this people thinking that everyone will like these games when in fact the people that buy games are people that have played games their entire lives! Nintendo are losing these people.
First Paragraph: you mean the third-party games not actually made by Nintendo? Or do you mean the likes of Wii Sports and Wii Play? Those two are hardly horrible, unless you're actually looking for a challenge or something.

Second Paragraph: They're only reaching out to the nongamers? What about Galaxy, Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Twilight Princess, Fire Emblem? What about the Virtual Console, you think they're allowing us to play Ninja Gaiden again for those who don't game? They may be the same franchises over and over again, but this is Nintendo, how could you have been a Nintendo fan long enough to blame the Wii for Nintendo's "decline" and not realise that this is what Nintendo have always done?
I bet after all those games you just listed you could not say another good game that is out for the wii? Virtual console is a waste of time it has hardly any games on it compared with what Ps3 store has or XBL store has too. Virtual console is only good if you have the homebrew channel hack.

Nintendo had such great games on gamecube and N64 for gods sake it had Resi 4 before PS2! Do you think Resi 5 will be coming out for wii? I didnt think so. Yes Galaxy and Brawl were fantastic. But compared to other consoles and PC the wii just cannot match up and it is because of Nintendos obsessive focus with party games and aiming at new people playing games!
No More Heroes, World of Goo, Dr Mario online RX, Resi 4... Seriously, if you look you'll find something, just how if you look on any system you'll see good titles... and shit. ALL system have mountains of shit...

Odd; I have many games for the Wii and I enjoy them all. Bloody well, I'd consider them good. There are many good ones out there, one simply needs to get their head out of their ass long enough to see them straight.

As for that one post up above that there are no real Wii rpgs. What about Tales of Symphonia 2? That's as rpg as you're going to get.

This appears to be nothing but a trolling Wii bash thread. Do not expect a second post from me.

If you can hold out until Spring... Sin and Punishment 2, Punch-Out, Madworld, and The Conduit should all whet your whistle.

But yeah, we need more good Wii games STAT.

From a purely business point of view, why should they spend fortunes on making a game for the few hard core gamers of the worlds populace when they can spend so much less money and make a game that appeals to everyone in the millions of retirement homes across the land. The business strategy they have now works, and that's all they care about.

I have a faith that they will eventually, but how long that will take is what lowers my faith. I believe Reggie or someone else at Nintendo gave an apology to avid gamers over E3 '08 being a mostly casual show, so hope exsists. Having said that, I don't the Wii is a waste of console. Enough games for me have come out to jusify $250. If it was $300 or more, I would be regrettful. Metroid Prime 3, Zelda TP, two Trauma Center games, Red Steel, and No More Heroes, which I bought and played over the weekend for the first time and absolutly loved. I don't see why people need to complain about the Wii. I am actually a bit relieaved that the 360 gets the most games because it needs more games to jusify the higher price.

The good games are all in the same dimension as the lost socks and the misplaced remote controls
You said it buddy. But like socks and remotes I'm sure we'll find them again eventually. I'm just not sure if we have to wait till the next generation of consoles or not.
You find them again? I've got about 15 socks in my draw with no matching pairs.
HEY, don't undermine my shallow attempts at optimism it makes me feel all frowny face inside, and I may have... Possibly... ACCIDENTlY... sold your socks on the black market... sorry?
Someone bought them? Theres small civalizations of mold on thoughs things.

I cant see many of the casual gamers who've never had a console before buying another Nintendo console after the Wii. By then (and already in many cases) they have got bored of their shiny new gadget and gone out and bought digital photoframes and stuff like that. Then, Nintendo will have already pissed off a lot of the people who used to respect them as a company for those who considered gaming a hobby rather than a thing to do with your nieces and nephews when they visit you because their mother feels bad for you since the divorce which occured because you're infertile.

TOS2 Which I would enjoy, bar the fact that it has not been released outside of US and Japan to all the happy little Europeans Or Ozzies.

Oh for s***'s sake, a little googling never hurt anyone.

http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=21704

The top games scheduled to come out for Wii in 2009. A new Fatal Frame game, an FPS, the sequel to Wii Sports, a game about being a spider or scorpion in the desert, a sidescroller made by the folks who did Odin's Sphere, and a new Punch Out game.

What's coming out for the other consoles? Shooters, third person shooters, aaaannnndddd JRPG's. At least the Wii has some variety in their line-up.

Back when I started gaming, I was given two choices, Sega MegaDrive, Or SNES. Most the games, albeit hard, were enjoyable back then. These days, we have many formats to play shiny games and it seems that the Wii is being played too much to the "Non-Serious" Gamer

The only good games that I've managed to play for the Wii are Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and well Wii Sports.

I know that everything is a business and companies must evolve to meet the needs of the current generation, but have you been to a game store and seen the Wii Section? I saw items such as "Mario Party 8", "Dora and the snow Princess", "Wii Fit", "Guitar Hero: World Tour" and Crap games like 20 in 1 Carnival games all more costly that the games I have actually enjoyed.

Will Nintendo ever start making games that the Serious Gaming Community will enjoy, or just this garbage that wont get a second glance?
Why does the no option have "don't care" next to it? They should be two separate options; 'No' and 'I don't care'.

To be honest I can't stand the Wii. I hate that i bought it, there is nothing good on it. It's nothing more than a gamecube replacement. I was hoping that there would be some good games but the motion control gimmick has made all games into a gimmick. If they considered releasing a normal controller for people to develop normal games for then that would be a step in the right direction.

However, the fact is that's not what Nintendo are trying to do. They took gaming and created a whole new market from nowhere. We [gamers] are not the focus of the Wii.

To me the Wii is the junk food of consoles. It's soulless, it lacks passion for creativity and passion for gaming. What I hate most is the danger of the other console makers switching strategies to get a share of Nintendo's market. Thankfully this new demographic doesn't spend much on gaming after the initial hardware so there will always be a hardcore market to cater for.

For every good wii-game there are at least 3 bad games -_-; I just hope games as MadWorld and the Conduit wont make me regret buying the wii.

The only reason I actually got a Wii was for Paper Mario, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Twilight Princess and Wii Sports. They should just stop making the damn family games which nobody cares about and start making real games!

Oh and by the way, Force Unleashed on the Wii was terrible, me and my friends were laughing at the back of the case.
