Story time with Teh LiZ: My parents were recently divorced and we spent nearly all our summer at our Grandpa's house because the both of them worked. He got fed up with the parents not letting us have anything to play with for fear it would end up at the "other house." So he got us our very own SNES. Except this one did not come with Mario. Noooo. This one came with something we'd never seen: Zelda. This was our first step outside platforming, and we had no idea what to do with it or ourselves. So after completing the lead-you-around-by-the-hand section, we were lost. So it sat. For a year and a half. Then at B. Dalton one day, I saw a guidebook. We begged the parents for it and it was bought. So then one of my younger sisters and I set about getting through this game. The first time took us three months. Then we did it again in three weeks. Then we did it again in three days. It opened our minds and led me down a path that would take me to places like StarCraft, Diablo2, Guild Wars, WoW, Sims, GoldenEye, Final Fantasy, Golden Sun, Chrono Trigger, and Fire Emblem. To name a few. We went from Mario junkies to real gamers. LTP will always be special. Without LTP, there might have been no TP for me. How sad!
I'm one of those 'newb gamers' you hear about often, so I don't have much patience for the old 'Nintendo Hard' games. I started with Ocarina of Time and got the love for Zelda and nostalgia from that. Since I started with the 3D Zeldas I didn't care much for the old 2D ones.

i started with links awakening which was the first gameboy game i got, then moved to OoT and MM which i really enjoyed, don't get why theres so much hate about it
I picked Sonic 3 even though I liked it (as well as every game in the poll). However, it's my least favorite of those listed. So yeah.
Wow. Mean poll!! I haven't played FF7 but of the other ones... Half-Life 2 I guess? Though I hate to call it 'worst', it's a very cool game!
I have to go with Final Fantasy 7. None of the other games come close to it.

Final Fantasy 9 was the only game in that massively overrated series that I actually liked.
Sure Sonic 3 wasn't as good as Sonic 2, but it's still loads better than Sonic's 3D games.
While Half-Life 2 had it's problems, it is still one of my favourite games.
As for Super Mario 3 and Zelda: Link to the past... I'm a bit flabbergasted that they're even part of this poll.

I was originally going to say that I thought this was a stupid poll till i read this post, so Im going to say FF7 as well, because I hate the direction it took the series. Whoever decided FF games should only have 3 members to a party should be shot. However decided 99% of male characters should be incredibly emo and androgynous should be shot. Whoever decided FF should 100% leave high fantasy/Steam-punk and go wannabe-technological should be shot. And whoever is in charge of pumping out more FF7 games should be shot. Oh, I dont mean shot dead, just maybe the base of the spine, or something.LeonHellsvite said:

i think a lot of people are voting sonic because they dont remember how good 3 was. they're thinking of how bad the games after that became. the original sonic games were on par w/ super mario.
