Metal is metal so I like it.And I don't tend to think about the genre.I much more think about the skill of each individual band.

I can't listen to death metal. Its too heavy for me. And growling is annoying. The closest thing to death metal I listen to is All That Remains.

I absolutely love Death Metal, no other genre is pushing the boundary's that Death is. It is more than 20 years old and only keeps getting more and more popular. That speaks volumes. My only problem with it is the hardcore BRUTAL death fans, thinking anything other than the most brutal of brutal death metals doesn't qualify as proper death metal, oh and of course the poser kids who try and destroy it with their shitty deathcore which is just absolutely awful.

Anyone who dismisses death metal as just random noise is perhaps the ignorant person in the world. Here are bands who qualify as Death metal.

Now tell me Death Metal takes no talent. I can't think of a single genre that takes more talent than Death Metal. Except Jazz perhaps, but every Death Metal fans knows how huge the crossover between Jazz and Death is, too bad most people can't look under the exterior, to find the awesome within. Their loss I suppose.

I was really into death metal in its early days when I was a kid. I still like all the golden oldies even if I barely ever listen to them but don't really know anything about the new bands.

Are we all talking about the same genre? Because I'm seeing a lot of different metals here...I mean, I'm seeing a lot of what I'd call Metalcore, Numetal, Symponic metal, and Black Metal...Poor thrashers got left out...

Needs less gruntign and screaming, then its awesome. All im asking is that the lyrics are a bit more audiable.
Read the lyrics then? Everything Audible.
I'd rather not, i mean. Say im at a club or bar and it comes on. Im not going to ask for a set of lyrics for me to read.

Exactly my views. Then again my music spectrum is rather large, from Snoop dogg to Nine Inch Nails and everything in between.

I agree with the first guy......... Death Metal takes way more skill with almost every instrument than other genres...... Like *pukes* Pop
This makes me think you confused Pop (as in popular) with Pop(the actual genre)

There is plenty of great Pop that requires talent to make.

I personally don't like metal. I have bands that flirt with metal influences, but no straight up Metal.

Ehh... not the Norwegian kind. Daath is pretty good, though. More of an industrial/nu-metal bloke myself.

I think people tend to generalise Death Metal into it just being the death vocals and a few chords. I think it's only fair that people listen to a wide variety of a genre before judging it just like I do with their music. I personally love death metal, especially bands who use orchestral elements, it just appeals to me..

Some of the musics i do really enjoy, but most of the time, the ugly voices ruins the melodies

will it be Death metal, or Goth Industrial...

Firstly, there's alot of bad Death Metal around. Bands that seem to think Death Metal = making noise (and of course the fans that think incomprehensible = better). But, that said, Death Metal contains some of the best displays of pure musical ability available. Particularly in the case of drums, which are used as instruments rather than the glorified metronomes they seem to be in so many other genres.
Yeah, except the typical drum beat in death metal, (the blast beat), it basically hitting the snare on every quaver/semiquaver which sounds strikingly like a metronome.

I'm an addict to the stuff. Deicide, Annotations of an Autopsy, Death (of course), Cannibal Corpse, etc, etc, etc. Fantastic genre.

Metal's my favourite genre on a whole, with Metallica being my favourite band of all time. Slayer, Maiden, Pantera, Bodom, Nightwish, Disturbed (wearing a Disturbed shirt right now), Korpiklaani, Anaal Nathrakh, I love it all! Greatest genre ever, and it's a major part of my life.

And here's another example of people confusing Symphonic Metal with Death Metal...Sorry mate, not even Dimmu Borgir can use 'orchestral' elements and rise above black metal...More symphonic than that really...

Getting to an age where the music still makes my blood boil in a good way,if that particular song has hooked me,but the vocals are just a joke.
Screechy growls or deep barking throat growls make me laugh. If you cant sing then dont.get a vocalist who can.
Stoner rock does that to me as well.I can really appreciate the mammoth riffs and generally fuzzed out feel of the music, but when they start singing its dissapointing.
