Even though I hate Nile...

Sorry, I worded that badly. I understand there are some amazing drummers who choose to use double-triple kicks but what pisses me off is people making these drummers out to be the greatest ever born. I prefer a drummer who can go fast and hard with only a single kick, that takes alot of skill.
And the other side of double-triple kicks that pisses me off is that pretty much my entire age-group who drum are using those kicks, because they can't go fast on a single. So to me, that is why I have distaste for double and triple kicks.

Love it! I can see why many people don't like it though, it's hard to appreciate bands like Nile or Behemoth they are way too extreme for many people.
I just started listening to Nile. Could you suggest a few songs?
Their new album is probably a good one to start with, it's called "Those Whom The Gods Detest".

Death metal is OK in small doses, I like Cannibal Corpse and Nile and a whole lot of other bands, I listen more to noisecore and grindcore though

Children of Bodom has no death metal riffs, and is a power metal band.
I have to disagree here!

In my opinion Children of Bodom is melodic death metal(atleast the earlier albums were, Hatebreeder, Something Wild etc.). Never albums have been more power metal oriented though (and not as good as the earlier ones).

Death Metal is a slight against real Metal,
Death Metal has turned a once great music genre into a pile of just screams and yells, as if someone ate the microphone and shit it out.

Well I don't even consider it singing, and the guitar usually just shows off how fast the guitar player can play and such, but never sounds like anything creative or awesome. You're more just amazed that he can play that fast. Same with the drums on most part. All thy do is hit the bass drum oooover and oooover.

But I can't generalize. Either way I prefer singing and don't mind screamo and such. It just has to sound right, and to me, Death Metal never sounds right.

I like Death Metal when it's done well, as long as it's original and there's a meaning to each song, then I'm happy with it as a genre.

I don't care for it. There are a few songs I like but the rest just doesn't appeal to me.

I'm not sure that I can say that I "like death metal" as a blanket statement, but I do love some death metal bands. I really enjoy melodic/progressive death metal (In Flames, Opeth).

...maybe I just haven't yet found the right death metal band to sweep me off my feet.

I like a lot of Death Metal, but it's gotta be melodic and reasonable progressive. For example I don't like Cannibal Corpse or even Decapitated, but I like bands like Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Opeth - stuff that's progressive and/or melodic
