I use a wireless mouse. (I suppose that's plenty of flame fuel as it is but hey, I'm committed to this idea)
Now, while I can't say that my mouse is one hundred per cent reliable (when the reciever's plugged into the front panel or I'm running off rechargeables it has been known to forget it exists from time to time), I *can* say it's never been a problem. Why?
Because it isn't a gaming mouse or any of that crap. No, I'm talking about a fairly standard Logitech one. (MX620, they don't make them any more sadly) As such, it's reliable (provided I plug the reciever into my keyboard), the batteries last for months (and warn you that they're running out about a month in advance), the thing itself for years (because say what you like about logitech, their input devices might as well be made out of titanium), it's got all the controls I actually need on it, it's comfortable in my hand (meaning it doesn't fuck my wrist up during protracted sessions), no worries about the cable getting caught (on my desk a considerable concern) and it's got all the sensitivity and precision that I actually need.
About the only thing my mouse doesn't have that would be nice is the darkfield tracking stuff so I could use it on any surface. It cost me £20. I've had it for three years and it's still going strong.
(As an aside, Razor products do seem to be uniformly buggy: I bought a Lycosa, and while it was kinda nice, it had this annoying habit of (in the middle of a game) forgetting that I might want to input a new command so just sent whatever it had been sending when it went of the rails)
