I would. I may hesitate, but I sure as hell would kill that one person and probably not lose any sleep over it. And I'll make him suffer as well, the way he's made countless of other people suffer... then I'll kill him, and cut his head off, just in case he comes back as a zombie.
oh dear... destroy the brain, don't remove the head.

but OT, probably. some may think is morbid, cruel and wrong, but how did the royals become royal in the first place? they took it, at the tip of a sword. i'll do the same with a lance.

a blunted lance.

How would you do it aswell?
No.

Damn this exact topic comes up once a week I swear. What's with you morbid people.
Well, they do variate it a little bit each week.
With or without punishment.
Kill one, kill a thousand.
With a button, with a gun.
Personally, anonymously.

The escapist. Where the forum breeds killers.

And they keep disappointing me because none of them actually does anything useful with the poll results.
Like create an analysis, determine the response with the nickname, age, postcount and amount of badges earned; or.. you know... commit an act of murder because the escapist community claimed they would too. Or not. Whichever. I'm not picky about it.

One high cheese who embezzled money from the helping-donation organization he was in charge of, to pay him an expensive vacation to Mallorca.

I believe it was the Swedish Red Cross.

depends is it just some random person? or is it someone of my choosing? does the no consequences only apply to this life and not the after life or is there no consequence in the afterlife either

I am amazed at how many "no"s there are. What is the only way to kill someone without penalty no matter the circumstances? Spoiler Alert: Self-defense. So of course I would.

p.s. I don't kill in cold blood. Even though I have someone in mind for it.

Even if I was given immunity from punishment and handed the gun to kill the person I hate most on this planet. I don't think I could do it. It would make me feel as low as the people I despise, and if I succumbed to such actions surely they would set a bad example and make it seem okay when people then come hunting me for revenge of the person I killed :S

Ahh, I once had a philosophy lecture titled "Why be good if you've got a ring of power?" The main question there comes down to "are humans inherently amoral and sociopathic only restrained by the rule of law?"

The metaphor used for us was firstly The One Ring (of power) from LOTR. Of course that brings up a whole bunch of other questions about free will on the basis that it is expressly stated to have a will of its own which can override the bearer. Smeagol, for example. The One Ring's ability to turn the wear invisible is ripped off from an ancient Greek legend about a guy given a ring which would do just that. He uses it to get the queen in his bed and murder the king, inevitably having the same thing done to him.

I digress. Given the option in the OP, I don't believe I'd take it. Of course I'm not entirely sure as it would depend on the circumstances. Chances are I would use the power 'for good' by taking out political assassinations which I thought would benefit the global community. Slippery path no doubt, power corrupts and such.

For people in general, I don't think they'd take it. Most baulk at the actual opportunity as demonstrated by the necessity to desensitise fresh soldiers and the kind of shell-shock that results from first killing. I suppose you could say it's the inherent conscience we have, though whether that's nature or nurture is hard to say.

Honestly? I don't know.
There have been times when I've wanted to tear someone apart for what they'd done to someone I care about, but if I had someone like that at my mercy, I don't know what I'd do. I'm not sure whether I'd be able to live with myself if I did.

Could I kill someone? Yes. Would I? Morally, no. But if it was a heat of the moment thing, and would have no controll overmyself whilest knowing that I would get away with it? Then yeah probably.

"Given the right conditions any man is capable to kill" - source who's name I don't recall. So I chose "yes".

Nah, I've spent all my hate. While it's true some people detract from your life and some add, I don't think death is a solution to any actual problem. If the solution is that easy, it's not a problem. The moral implications are, of course, that I couldn't condemn anyone else who did it, and that would give me a lot of problems with my ethics, especially historically speaking. I like to think there's a small form of equilibrium in how the world is in its natural state. If there was no bad, there could be no good.

No punishment, whatsoever? As in, if I did, I wouldn't be barred from heaven if it exists and condemned to eternal punishment? Yes, but only in self defence. I really can't think of going out and murdering someone at random or even planning to murder.

In self-defense? Likely. If someone was pissing me off "here and now"? Maybe. But no-one annoys me that much as to purposefully murder them. And it's just plain wrong to be the judge, jury, and executioner.
