I've been actively posting for only 2 months now and already i'm seeing the same topics repeated over and over again. Even by people who have atleast 1000 more posts than me.
Just wondered if any of the following Topics are starting to bore other escapists aswell.

"Am I the only one?"
"I've lost faith in humanity"

Those two are mine.

Threads about drugs are always filled with people ranting about how everyone else is being controlled by government propaganda.

I'd like to see less threads where the thread starter asks a (usually rather simple) question and people just give their own (usually short) answer without discussing anything at all.

I'm sick of all these avatar threads, it's mostly people just rambling about themselves.

"Your avatar" threads are fine. So long as they're in the appropriate section. That makes them doubly annoying when they appear in the off-topic section.

Edit: I've also noticed that since the new forum rules were imposed, we've seen an increase in vs. threads and the likes. Threads that were previously declared as frowned upon in the posting guidelines from back in the day are coming back. *sigh*

"My GF ________"

And that's really the only type of thread I despise!

OHHH!

And anything about "obscure" bands.

Honestly, this is nothing at all compared to the WoW-forums when it comes to topic that pop up every. single. week.
Still, if I never again have to read about Gaming and Girls, I'm pretty happy.

I get annoyed when people asked for advice in the Off-Topic section, but that has seemed to have died down. The Avatar threads and the hypothetical situations that put you as an all powerful person with a choice have been getting on my nerves as of late though.

The "LOL luket mah revuw! it'r TEH BESSSSSSSSSST EVAR! LOLOLOL!!!11!!1onew!" threads. If you're going to write a review, at least put some effort into it, and VIEW THE CONTENT FIRST.

Also, avatar threads seem to be out of hand right now.

If I were to be really selfish, I'd say anything about anime. They're all over the place and I don't watch any anime, so I can't contribute and feel all left out.
But I'm not the only member here so I'm gonna go with...

Anything to do with faith in humanity. I don't even like the ones supporting faith in humanity because there'll always, always be someone come in and crash the party with their misery. Just makes me feel down afterwards.
But now I'm bringing this thread down with my misery. Oh, the hypocrisy!

I'm sick of piracy threads. Honestly I keep seeing like 4 a week and it seems that you even hint at being pro-piracy you get warned or put on probation.

It's like joining the debate club in a topic about drugs where the one condition is that no one can be pro-drugs. It's bullshit to start a topic that you KNOW will end in debate knowing that the rules won't allow anyone to actually debate the topic.

"The last [blank] you [blanked] is now [blank]." by a looong shot!!
I get annoyed by how big avatar threads get, almost all of them over 1k responses! (except mine, http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.263764-Your-avatar-would-you-date-marry-it?page=18#10026322 >.<)
All others are fine, that I can think of.

"Why does all pop music suck?"
"Why does music in general suck?"
"Why is there nothing good on TV?"
"Why does Hollywood only make crap movies these days?"
"Why do games suck these days?"

Because they don't suck. You just have a different opinion.

Also, "Why are games so expensive?"/"What loser pays $60 for a PC game?" and "Why charge for DLC?" threads. Please refer to this website [http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/10/an-inconvenient-truth-game-prices-have-come-down-with-time.ars] that explains how games should be costing $75 or more these days.

Everything does not suck. There's always bacon.

OT: Girls and Gaming. It should be obvious a good portion of gamers are girls as they constitute roughly 50% of the population.
