Wait, did they actually watch the movies, or did they just hear "sparkling vampires" and slapped "horror" on it?

It's purpose is romance and masturbatory fantasy for young girls who aren't quite ready to deal with those feelings. Oh and abstinence. Not to horrify, or scare. Not a horror movie. You can have vampires in anything, it doesn't make it horror. "Vampires in Candyland" would not be a horror movie. Even Interview with the Vampire is closer to horror, but that's also not a horror movie.

To anyone under the age of twelve twilight is the coolest shit ever. However, when they hit that magical age where they develop common sense they will realize how stupid the thing they were worshiping is.

I actually started yelling at the tv in indignation when I saw this...good thing no one else was in the house at the time.

I wish there was an option that read "oh my god, holy shit never NOOOO!!!" Twilight barely passes as cinema; let alone a good movie.

Wow, sounds like the academy awards this year really blew chunks. Glad I didn't watch.

Although Jeff Bridges won his best actor nomination, and I promised someone I'd open my Big Lebowski bobble head if that happened...

Oh god how in the hell does Twilight get honored for anything? Aside from being complete rubbish launching a franchise, it pains me to call it that, that will constantly cash in every year or two. With no improvement in writing, acting, music, or even characters that are likeable. Seriously if I had to be put in a room with Edward or Bella I think suicide is acceptable.

Suicide is actually recommended for most people. Especially if you are mentally and emotionally stable and are over the age of 25.

I almost voted yes because the film was quite horrifying. I still think that my mother described the Twilight movie the best; "I watch a movie mostly to waste two hours, but I really want the last two hours back."

Has nobody noticed the waves of disgust against this movie from the general public? Or are the fangirl squeals too loud?

This is why I don't watch this shit. I know people have opinions and everything, but putting Twilight up there with those classic movies is just wrong.

Twilight and its pussy ass vampires can bite me for all I care.

Seriously, have the people who run the oscars had lobotomies? Putting Twilight in with all of those films would be like putting a piece of paper smeared with feces in the Lourve. I am now convinced that the Oscars are run by chimpanzees.
No, then the whole show would just go bananas.

So...let me get this straight. A movie about sparkling vampires, an empty shell of a girl lusting after a sparkling vampire, and those same sparkling vampires playing baseball in the rain, has been tossed into the same category as a movie where a cannibalistic serial killer is helping FBI agents track down another serial killer, who is kidnapping young women and starving them in a pit for three days before killing them and skinning them so he can make a woman suit?

I'ma go grab some pitchforks and torches now, pardon me.

I'm a huge fan of horror, and as well a fan of the Twilight series (the books more than the films, as if that redeems me) and i think we can all agree that Twilight and New Moon are NOT horror films.

BTW, did anyone notice how Farrah Fawcett was completely overlooked in the "In Memoriam" section of the Oscars? She died the same day as Michael Jackson and she doesn't even get mentioned!? That's just wrong.

I really wanted them to put the Bruce Campbell "Groovy" line in it.

Yes. It's like Princess Dianna/Mother Teresa all over again. Also I didn't realise Dom De'luise was dead.
