Right, I don't want to get into my feelings of the show itself, as that'll start a big flame war, but I really want to discuss the most recent, 150th episode special.

First of all, why celebrate this number? Usually 100 multiple to celebrate with shows, 1000 if it's like a daily show. But 150 is just so odd, like someone said "Aw man, this episode is too long, and I can't cut it down! Oh, wait! We can just do a special for the... what number is coming up? Right, 150th episode! We'll have some time to fill, so let's just throw in some musical numbers at the end."

Now the episode itself was disgusting, annoying, and pointless. It was that awkward kind of comedy you'd find in The Office, only this time, it's so awkward that it kills any possible comedy. Basically, Brian and Stewie get locked into a Bank Vault after hours on Saturday, so much spend all night Saturday and all day Sunday in this vault. But Stewie poops himself within moments of the door closing, so the audience has to watch with their mouths ajar as Brian eats Stewie's Diaper clean, eats a pile of vomit that we have to watch Stewie produce while Brian ate, and then licks Stewie's ass clean. Really, I don't want to watch that. I really don't. It's not funny, it's not clever, it's not interesting, it's just really, REALLY disgusting.

After that, we need to watch Stewie and Brian get drunk off of some Scotch he has in his safe box. Yeah, what a nice message, a baby drinking. Then, Stewie has Brian pierce his ear. Why? What purpose does it serve? None. Is it funny? No. Would you find it interesting to watch? Of course not. So, why the hell are we watching this? In fact, it's disturbing that this is all happening to a baby.

There are a few other things that happen, like Stewie revealing that he needs to return a $3000 sweater he bought before the end of the day or else he couldn't return it, Stewie wasting the one phone call his cell phone had the power for to ask for an extension on the return for his sweater, Brian and Stewie getting mad at each other, having a drunken arguement, mentioning The Dog Whisperer, and some other crap before having a "heartfelt" moment when Brian reveals that he has a revolver in his Safe Box in case he wanted to kill himself, and then Stewie telling Brian that he loves him, and all that crap.

There were some musical specials, some aired, some that were cut after the main show, but they just served as padding to round out the hour, so I ignored those.

All in all, it was a stupid special. It was a stupid thing to celebrate only done to merit an hour runtime, it was disgusting, pointless, not funny, and I really am sick of this whole "comedy duo" of Brian and Stewie.

So, tell me what you think of the episode. Did you like it, did you hate it, do you agree with me, do you disagree? I don't want this to become a flame war, this was just something I have to talk about because it bugged me so much.

Also, in case anyone is wondering why I watched the whole episode when I clearly wasn't enjoying it, I don't know. I guess just because I wanted to see if it could possibly get worse. To my surprise, it didn't, but it certainly didn't get any better.

It was for shock value. Family Guy is one of those shows where they try to be as offensive as possible and forget they were trying to make a comedy show. Sometimes it has its laugh out loud moments, but now the series is dead and I will not miss it.

Yeah, don't watch Family Guy. I'm so glad I don't, from what you described.

Really Family Guy has been in the toilet for a long while its about time Seth MacFarlene hangs it up or just sticks to one show.

It's from Megas XLR.

Thanks to the people who made me feel not as outcast for thinking that Family Guy is long dead.
Speaking of Multiple shows, I still watch the series, probably because I'm too lazy to set my tivo to not record it, but has anyone noticed that after Cleveland got his own show how much he's referenced in Family Guy still? Seriously, in over 50% of the episodes since he got his own show, he's shown up or been referenced. If they want him in Family Guy, they should have just kept him in Family Guy.

Megas XLR

OT: Bah, stopped watching after the first 2 seasons.

And who cares what number they choose to celebrate? Team Fortress 2 just celebrated its 119th update with lots of stuff.

American Dad is Family Guy done right.

Futurama and South Park are still the top dogs in the adult comedic cartoon world. Wait... Forgot about Venture Bros.

Family Guy has stopped trying to have any plot whatsoever and buys its giggles with random sight-gags that have no bearing on anything except to be a random sight-gag. I mean, that's okay and all, but the humor they rely on these days is usually in very bad taste. It's just not funny anymore.

They ran out of humor many seasons ago.

The first couple of seasons were good. The joke is gotten. Time to move on.

i do think family guy has lost it's way, i think it's trying to hard to develop the characters of stewie and brian

they were supposed to be funny and not taken seriously - brian, sarcastic and a straight man to peter's antics
stewie, narcisistic and bent on killing lois

.....and thats it they werent supposed to be emotional and 'developed', just funny supporting characters

Fuck you Rick Berman Cartoon Network! Seriously...

OT: It was a genuinely funny show in the beginning and it has a few funny moments in the later seasons, but it seemed the more it tailored to the 12-19 year old crowd the less mature it became and more about the shock value at times.
