Well well well.
I will tell you all what: i like this setting's art style. No, actually scratch that, i fucking love this art style. So ridiculously pompous and over-the-top. It's like if someone looted random items from all over the world and piled them in a gigantic mountain of unrelated stuff, then set it on fire and threw a rock festival on top of it! Awesome! This setting even has miniguns that shoot rockets - there's only one other with those, to my knowledge.
But then comes the sobering realization. First strikes Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy. I cannot possibly care for any side involved, because all of them are equally, irredeemably atrocious, and everyone is going to die horribly anyway, so what's the freaking point? The god of hope is evil, i don't want to stick around in universe like that. Then the fanboys. Oh god, the fanboys, the obsessive kind of them. I cannot stand them. The brick-faced seriousness of the setting about itself is pretty annoying, but when fans start taking it serious too... THE HORROR!
And then i realise that the setting is not as awesome as it could be. For example, why are there no freeze rays in 40k? Where are armoured war trains? Or naval fleets, for that matter? Where are parachuting bears, trombone missile launchers, Ninja Pirate Zombie Robots? So long story short, i don't like it. I'm even working on my own parody.
