I mean, seriously. You'd think it was Sonic 2006 from the amount of complaining I've seen about it.

I liked combat a LOT more than the first one. I also liked how the dialogue tree is now similar to Mass Effect (Which is my favourite series ever).

I will admit the plot itself is a bit disjointed, and the three acts have little to do with one another, though.

Also, there's the fact that we stay in Kirkwall for 90% of the game, but really, I didn't mind that at all while I was playing it. I really like city settings in games anyway.

Edit: Since my poll seems to be broken, I'll just tell you that the answer is apparently no.

You just might be..

Dragon Age one was alot more involved.. more difficult.. more things to do.. more control of yourself and party..

To me.. this was just a console game..

Guess i should say that..Ya i play my games on a PC..

I thought the game itself was pretty good, but I did find it disappointing relative to Dragon Age: Origins.

I had two major problems with DA2. First, the reused environments (which seems to be a universal complaint). Second, and more importantly...Kirkwall didn't appear to change nearly as much as it should have. The city and the people looked and sounded the same, even though the game took place over a decade.

No. I loved it it. It had its problems, but so did the first game. I liked the characters better in the second game actually. Well, all except for Anders. Otherwise, I enjoyed it. Have to replay it soon so I'm ready to go when the DLC hits.

Um...I don't see a poll option...

Short answer: No you aren't.

Longer answer: I enjoyed it. Wasn't quite as in depth as Origins, but I liked the combat a lot more, much like you.

I liked the combat. I hated the fucking waves.

They're good sometimes. For example when you're fighting what is supposed to be an army, or spiders (it's conceivable that they would drop from the roof) but in every fucking battle?

It really took away any semblance of a plan because you didn't ever know how many enemies would be there, when they would be there, or where they would be.

I really didn't find the reused maps too bad. It wasn't game breaking.

I didn't like the story.

Over all it was a net positive experience. However it was probably inferior to DA:O.

EDIT: I wanted to slap Meril every time she opened her stupid *****-mouth. I fucking loathed her.

I also hated Fenris. He had such fucking awesome powers but was always having a fucking whinge. I don't mind complaining, hell, I'm doing it now, it was part of the charm of Alistair. But having an angst ridden whinge about how hard done by you are and how you need to be alone gets old after the second mission that ends with "I need to be alone..." *you now have one of your party missing*

Nah, I've seen other people that like it better as well. And while I haven't played DA2 yet, I'm going to hazard a guess that I'll be one of those people who like it better. The combat looks better, and staying in places makes me more attached to 'em. We'll see, though.

and the fact that there felt like there was a legitimate threat in Dragon age origins: I have to go kill the archdemon or it will kill us all. In Dragon age 2 I felt like everytime someone asked me to do something I couldn't work out why I specifically had to do it. I didn't care for the people asking and anytime I said no I didn't want to help them I Still ended up having to do it anyway.
Why do I have to go talk to the Quinari, you're the vicount, it's your job. You go sort them out!
The dialogue wheel also had a habit of having unpredictable replies.

I enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first game, but I enjoyed it.

I'm hoping the third will be a healthy balance between the two.

Pretty much this. And get rid of the fucking dialog wheel. Origins had a better system.

I thought it was pretty mediocre after awhile, but when I did play it I did enjoy it a bit. Still probably one of the worst games I've played all year, but that's mostly because I've been more cautious after buying it.

Other than the overused dungeons and a few bus I loved it it. Better combat, better characters that feel like more than just archetypes, and loved the dialog wheel to.

No, you're not alone. I wouldn't say it was necessarily better than DA1, but I did enjoy the smoother faster combat and I found the different approach to storytelling to be refreshing. Overall, the only really bad parts of the game where the constant re-use of the limited number of maps and how there weren't enough changes to the characters/environment given the time frame of the narrative.

It had some petty annoyances that sprung up over and over, (like the environments) but for all it's flaws, I still played through it twice. (I play most Bioware RPGs three or four times, if that's any indication) Not great, but it certainly killed time.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Every time I played the game I couldn't have her in my party nor have I ever completed her companion quests.
I found it hilarious to play a mage and befriend fenris because halfway through a rant about why all mages are evil I'd point out that I'm a mage and he'd backpedal so fast it was hilarious.

Huh, that's weird.

Oh well. The answer seems to be mostly no, thusfar.

I was wondering the same thing after I beat it. When it first came out, I hardly saw anyone say anything good about the game, but I enjoyed it. Enough that I played it just about every waking hour for 3 days straight.

agreed.
My main problem was the text, it was nearly un readable.

Although the dialog wheele made up for it. Especially considering the fact it tells you the outline of the action, because sometimes the responces are vague e.g. when i was speaking to the rock wraith leader a opition came up saying "merril" i thought it was asking her t ohelp me in a dilopmatic way. IT WAS A HOSTILE ACTION
