No you're not. Some people didn't like it and aired their hatred, some people did like it and kept quiet.

Obviously you weren't. The trouble with DA2 is that the retarded backlash is inseparable from the legitimate criticism.

Me, I haven't finished it yet. I don't like either of the potential actors for the main character (big turn off), the setting is utterly boring, the characters aren't that compelling, corners are cut like hell and the combat system is fun but not suited to the way enemies spawn and act...but I'm still planning to play through it. Nobody could honestly call it a great game (unless they were on massive amounts of heroin like the Escapist's reviewer apparently was...) but you can still have fun with it, and equally you can see the obvious flaws without buying into the whole BIOWARE HAS BETRAYED US game idiots seem intent on playing.

TBH I think the biggest mistake was making it Dragon Age 2 instead of Dragon Age: Hawke's Journey or whatever. It is in no way a sequel to DAO apart from being set in the same universe, so why market it that way?

I really liked it. It definitely had flaws, but I'm pretty sure that's the result of a rushed game. I think having read somewhere on this Web site that the team was originally supposed to have another year to make it.

I found the characters more likeable, more interesting in general.. and you were really rewarded for getting to know them better even if you were being a jackass to them.

Kirkwall could've been a bit more interesting for me though if there had been more of a distinction between the people living in the different areas... So far, only the clothing was changed, but I found it weird to see the same hairstyle both on nobles and street urchins. I would have liked to see more of a gap.

I also liked the fact that this was Hawk's story and his or her role in the downfall of Kirkwall. It was more complex than just HERES A VILLAIN, KILL IT.

Just because a game sells a million copies doesn't mean a million people like it.

Dragon Age 2 is what happens when you let EA tell you what time frame to make your game on. The writing, combat, level design, character design, etc. is all very first draft. It might have been good if it had another year of development, but at this point you can't really justify playing it when basically every other Bioware game and every CDPR game does the same thing more competently.

You can be certain 100% of the time that you are never the only one to like or dislike anything.

I thought Dragon Age 2 was pretty damn good. It did somethings better then DA1, and DA1 did a lot of things better then DA2.

I liked DA2, but it was shorter than DA:O and was, unlike DA:O, a bunch of sidequests combined to make a main plot, in the same areas and you saw them over and over again, where DA:O had a variety of places and had a solid main quest line, with side quests you could choose to do.

I liked it a lot more than the first one. Sure they reused environments but honestly it's just as bad as back-tracking through the same environments over and over again.

The combat was vastly improved, and anyone who thought it was too easy should play it on harder difficulties.

The story, well... I liked it, but that's probably because it wasn't typical Bioware narrative. I get it. So there wasn't a big final boss fight like an Archdemon. The implication of 2 are a lot bigger than just Darkspawn destroying a country. It's more for the detail and bigger picture kind of guy.

Honestly though, if you add them both up they come out more or less equal. I'll play 2 more than Origins just because it has a neater inventory though.

You are not alone, comrade.

I honestly found it more fun to play than Dragon Age Origins and while the story was disjointed, it was at least different from the usual ''go to three places, then fight big bad''. I thought it was really cool how the arcs were more like episodes, or something. It would have been better if they somehow flowed naturally into each other, but hey, BioWare had only a year and a half.

So yeah, you're not the only one who lied it.

You are definitely not the only one who enjoyed it. I liked it quite a bit.

But it wasn't as good as Dragon Age Origin. The world was too small, the environments far too repetitive, the side quests were mostly jokes (finding a random item in a dungeon and giving it to someone you've never met before and never will again hardly constitutes a "quest") and it WAS easier than DA:O. If I could beat the game quite easily on Normal Difficulty, anyone can. DA:O was a nightmare for me on Normal, yet I managed to get through DAII without dying even once except at the last big battle (just before the second-to-last boss of the game there's a really, REALLY challenging fight near the Harbor area. That was the first time I died in the whole game).

I had FUN while playing DAII. I liked most of the cast (except Fenris and whatever sibling you end up with).

But it was disappointing. I was expecting Dragon Age II, not "Kirkwall Age: The Kirkwallian adventures and escapades of Captain Hawke and the Hawkeneers in the Land of Kirkwall! KIRKWALL!" Had they made DAII a spin off and told us how limited the world was going to be, had they been a bit more honest, then the disappointment would have been less severe.

I enjoyed it. But it's not even shadow of the first game. Dragon Age Origin, on normal difficulty, took me around 60 hours to complete, and I didn't even do all the sidequests. DAII, I am not joking, took me 32 Hours to Complete, and I had done all the sidequests except that broken one near the end (the one about rescuing the hostage) and I only died about 4 times during the entire game, all towards the end (some of the final battles can be quite difficult).

I had fun with the game too but that doesn't excuse it for being an inferior product sold at full price.

Dragon Age 2 was a fun and entertaining game that lasted 8 (or more) hours but really lacked the RPG element, when you're not able to choose your backstory and race giving you a more in-depth and enjoyable setting to the game it kinda feels far too linear with very little choices that do f**k all in the end. Yes the combat was a great improvement to the game and being able to hear your character say what you choose with feeling and emotion was quite a nice touch but I must say that the story was none to good compared to it's sucessor, and most of the environments were reused considerably to an annoying end making most of the running around quite boring and run-of-the-mill. All in all the game was amuseing and gave me hours of (somewhat) fun but lacked many crucial aspects that show what happens when you give keyboards to retards.

In short I did like Dragon Age 2 but it was a dissapointment in many ways.

I loved it. There were some things I liked better than DA:O...and I thought it was a wonderful step in the series. I loved the story and the writing. I loved the chances they took. Loved, loved, loved it.

It isn't that the game is necessarily bad, its just that it is really kind of obvious that they put far less work into it than the original, what with the reusing of the 3 different dungeons and all

I liked the game.

Except for the F!$%ing environment design. But I have same complaint for both DA:O and DA2 so there. I constantly feel claustrophobic. But in case of DA2 it feels even more rushed out the DAO.
