They're switched in Britain? What do you mean by that?

Also, "raised" isn't really the right term.

Here in Britain, Public and Private mean pretty much the same thing. It's weird.

And writing this also feels weird due to the insane amount of Visual Basic I've been staring at over the last week.

Public (American). And I'm happy with it. I know people who go to private schools and are pretty unhappy abut the strict standards.

Although a Japanese private school would be nice... and no I don't mean the school girls.

I would not say raised is the right verb for the scenario, but I attended public schools for my pre-college/university career.

You might want to give some proper definitions so that we're clear about what we're talking about here.

Public-private.

As in, publicly funded with privately funded religious classes.

In Canada.

Both actually. And Private schools (in America) tend to be better as far as education goes, although if you aren't religious it can be a tough sell...

Private FTW! Damn public schools, with their ugly uniforms and second hand textbooks! lol

Also I wasn't raised at a school.

For elementary school? I was raised in a Private Catholic School. Following that and going into High School however, I enlisted in a Public High School. I can say one thing about the experience of both, I learned a lot more in the Private Catholic School then I did in the Public school.

As far as I was aware weren't private schools funded by the money paid directly by the parents so they can have 'better education'(why they are more expensive) and public by the council? I don't know to much about schools, anyone able to help?

Never really saw much difference I went Public (Britain) or State or whatever they call it now school, college - Uni so it's all good either way.

Public 'till 9th grade, and I gotta say, there's a HUGE difference in the level of education, especially because my private school happens to also be one of the best private schools. I really do feel sorry for everyone in public school.

I do home school. And before you say anything let me tell you how it works.

It's called CSDE, 'Capricorna School of distance Education'. All my work is online on the school site and I talk to my teachers on phone lessons with other students.

Sorry I had to do that, but when I say home school a lot people think that I'm a retard or some kind of crazy god nut.

Dude, I hate to burst your bubble, but in England we call posh private schools 'public schools' too. So a British public school is a British private school. It's just two words for the same thing.

We call government funded schools 'state schools'.

So for Britain, your poll is pretty much redundant D= But I voted public anyway since I get what you mean.
