I guess it's state then I went to, or public.. in britain.. the one majority go to.

It was pretty meh, sixth form got a bit annoying because technology was really old and they were reluctant to spend anything, shortage of computers for music tech and stuff.. then there was the numerous IT teachers that got fired due to pedophilia stuff.

Then you go to uni and realise it doesn't really change all that much, issues with courses, some lecturers being lazy.

What?

Public (Britain)
Private (Britain)

You've given Britain the same bloody option, for public is private here.

What you want to say is this:

Public (Britain)
State (Britain)

Quite correct terminology.

Public schools are owned and ran by private individuals, members of the public if you will, instead of being for the public like in the USA. Paying individuals can go to these schools.

State schools are run by the state, and are the ones that are free for the public.

Please make the necessary amendments, because otherwise only Public-schooled Brits can vote in this poll.

For the record, I am state-schooled, though it's supposed to be one of the best in the country.

I'm enlisted in a public High School. Though I'm technically Catholic, I haven't been in a church since I was seven, though private catholic school was almost an option for me.

Unfortunately, public...

I went to, from what I heard, great public schools... They were not... At least, unless you were already very intelligent... If you were slow in any way... You went to some classroom far in the back, and all you got to do was read the newspaper...

English(free to attend)state ran school.

Apparently among the worst in the country. So bad they knocked it down and started over with a new building, shit loads of money and a new name...the year after I left.

That's why I does not do the English so goodly.

Homeschooled in America. And fine with it, proud of it. Seriously, only so many homeschoolers are actually like the stereotypes; if the parent's motivations are good (which is usually the case), it is a very social experience, and unquestionably more academically effective than America's piece of crap school system.

I went to a fairly small private Catholic school for pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, and middle school. So switching to a very large public high school was one of the biggest shocks of my life.

Both.

Two years of Public School interupted by one and a half years of private school (religious boarding school) and finally one final year at a different public school.

Public school is just a waste, at least the private one was interesting (aside from it being comprised of stuck up rich kids and being bombarded by religious nonsense every waking moment).

In the US

State school (England).

Like fuck would I ever go to a religious (since many - if not most - of them are) public school.

THAT'S WHY!

Public school in Texas. Despite stereotypes about Texas, we have some of the best funded and highest rated schools in America (though that's not saying that much globally) and I went to the best one in a suburb. In other words, a very good public school. Our Valedictorian had a 4.85 out of 5 GPA.

Public School, in England.

Fuck Private Schools!
What's wrong with Private schools?

Saying that, I hated mine, but that was only because of the female supremicy issues. And they still had the same 'we only care about the smart ones' attitude, they gave a lot more attention to the poeple who wanted to be doctors or were oxbridge material, and the rest of us were just bunched together and got significantly less help.

I went to a state school in Britain. (We don't have 'private' schools...)

I come from a very working class background, and I try to defy the stereotype as much as possible. But I must say that part of me hates smug public(private for yanks) school people. It's not jealousy or anything like that, just the combination of arrogance and cluelessness that those kinds of people exude just...God it gets me angry just thinking about it. You'd think 3 years of uni, mingling with public(private) school types would deal with that a bit, but it just reaffirms it all the damn time.

That also needs to be followed with people who do crap at school and blame it on them going to a crap school. My old school was in the paper the other week for being consistently one of the worst in the country at the time I finished. Still left with great grades and still managed to do well. If you fall into this description then you are scum.

Schools a...sensitive topic.

Private school education, the non-British one. It was good, our principal didn't believe in detentions, and it was impossible to get expelled.
