My country being conquered by fucking someone. Seriously, other better countries, we're open for business 364 days a year. Just roll over a few soldiers or two, declare this to be your territory and we won't care. In fact, we'll be happy the morons currently in charge run away. Hell, we don't even give a shit if the soldiers are drunk. JUST send someone for FUCKS SAKE.
I'm sorry to hear that o__o

I've seriously thought about getting Metro 2033, but I'm on the fence. I'm a sucker for all things Russia, but the reviews leave something to be desired. Nevertheless, the game seems to have a cult following, and perhaps I'd be a welcome member. Hmm... <__<
I was on the fence too. It was on sale on steam recently, so I picked it up.
Hop off that fence and get yourself that game, my friend. I thought it was a great, and highly enjoyable game. The atmosphere particularly was brilliant. Liked it so much I went out and bought the book.

On topic, I asked for a violin for Christmas, woohoo!
I think I'll take your advice. How's the book?

Books. Lots and lots of science fiction books. My reading list is over 100 novels long.
Do you use a site to keep track of all those or do you just write it down? I use Good Reads, because I don't like having to keep track of the paper XD
I write it down and keep it in one place so I don't have to keep track of it. I just cross off the title I finish as I go and add new ones when I find a new one to read.

Christmas shopping season started for my store mid-October. We had an "Early" Christmas display by the front door. Of coarse, yesterday we changed half the store from Haloween to Christmas/Thanksgiving 100%.

Retailers wanting to making money is a good bunch of insanity.

I could post it, but I'm afraid I'd just be flamed/criticized/laughed at... [sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub]Is mutual love so much to ask for? [/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

Well, I guess money also would be nice though... (What? I got bills to pay, along with a student loan >_>)

Metro 2034
I really wish they would put that one out in English, too.

OT: In short, video games and death metal. There isn't really much else...
Last I heard it was already published in English?
I've only heard in Russian, possibly German too. Metro 2033 was just published in English in the past 4-5 months maybe? I have an English copy of it, and the prices were from the UK... I don't think it is out here in the US yet, and no clue about the rest of the world...
My copy of Metro 2033, that's in Swedish, was released like a year or so ago. So it seems weird that it'd only recently have been released in English. It even said in my Swedish copy of it that the sequel, Metro 2034, was going to be released "here" by 2010.
Hmm, hopefully it will be. I'm a little over half way through 2033 now and it is incredible.
I think the best part of the book is the second half, from Polis and onwards. The ending will, unless someone's already spoiled it for you, completely baffle you.
Just got to the "Polis" chapter, actually... lol. But nope, only thing I've heard about the ending is that in the game there are two different endings and the book was a combination of both of them, but that is all I know. I even stopped playing the game so it wouldn't spoil the book at all.

Haven't had time to start it yet. I'll keep you posted though!

My parents are awesome this year and letting me ask for a fuckload of stuff. Not sure why, but I'm not exactly complaining:
Just to clarify, have they said you're actually getting you the things you ask for? If not, could be a little disappointing. For example, I've asked for a private island every year (including this one, I'm now 23) since I was 7 and still haven't got one.
They generally give me a warning beforehand if I'm not gonna get everything I asked for. Or just tell me flat-out that I'm asking for too much. Neither of those things have come up yet.

And, to be fair, you can't actually expect someone to get you a private island for Christmas. Just sayin'.
Ah fair enough, going to be a good one for you then!

I know I can't expect it, though the saying 'don't ask, don't get' exists for a reason. One day my family may surprise me with a small tropical paradise somewhere as a reward for my persistence over the years. Alternatively, socks.
This is true. Besides, maybe you could use the socks you get to make a hammock once you get your private island!

Considering I don't particularly like getting gifts, I don't ask for anything usually.
