Battlefield Bad Company 2.
Except nobody's playing.

OT: It's not perfect, but I really wish everyone would stop bitching about it. It's not "broken". It's just the most popular shooter in the world, so the huge number of people leads to a huge number of dicks. Calm down and quit your bitching, everyone.
What server browser are you looking at?

Oh wait.
Ah, yes. The total number of people playing BF:BC at any particular time is totally comparable to the number of people playing MW2. It's just as easy to find a game. That's why it's sold so many more copies than MW2. You're absolutely correct.

(listens to headpiece)... Wait, I'm being told that none of those things are true. BF:BC has sold much fewer copies than MW2, and its online community is considerably smaller, making it more difficult to find a game. I apologize for the confusion.
I log in, boot up the server browser, find a game, and i'm in game in seconds. MW2 i've gotta go through a shitty matchmaking service and it takes me (I say me, I mean iwnet) much longer to find a game.

Its not about the size, its about how you use it.

Camping for kill streaks. Why reward someone for getting a bunch of kills by making it easier to get a bunch more kills? It's kicking someone's head into the ground, stomping them into the mud, then getting the sledge hammer out just to drive the point home.

Assault rifles generally being too good as a consequence of map design and gun functionality.

Too many perks defining kits rather than the weapons- one man army makes the noob toob spam much more viable than just a K/D carry.

Commando Bro giving you Jesus powers.

Making customers pay a premium for a game where you actually stripped out features from previous games, ruining the multiplayer with p2p servers rather than dedicated ones, and basically just screwing the pooch in terms of how they changed multiplayer, and effectively killing the online community for some odd reason. Oh, and then making people pay for post-release content that's historically been free. It's taking down the Eiffel Tower because you want to build stonehenge 2.

Removal of the Vote Kick function.

Complete ineptitude at handling hackers, and server joining- if I join a hacked server, then leave it almost immediately there's a fair chance I don't want to rejoin it dumbasses!

Finding myself in a situation where I have to purposely get myself killed regardless of whether or not a given killstreak will kill me just because I need to switch to a kit that can shoot it down because I know that if I don't my team won't either, they'll repeatedly charge into it, get killed, and loose us the game.

Why do people like to copy thread ideas. Just because 1 MW2 thread comes up does not mean we need 5 more.

OT: Lack of dedicated servers and the gimped PC ruined multiplayer on PC by hiking up ping. Also Quick Scoping and Dropping Shooting are legitamate tactics and have been in the CoD series since its inception almost. I can't believe that people would complain about that in MW2. I can understand the noobtubes from having played CoD4 and possibly Akimbo shotguns haven't seen them in action but 1 shotgun is more than enough. Seriously though Quick Scoping and Drop Shooting? Both take skill and have disadvantages to them.

Teleporting Knife and Boosting for me anyway. The weapons and perks are perfectly balenced, apart from commando, but the killstreaks are so crap. you get 10 kills, then you get an ac130 (or is it 12 kills? havn't played it in ages) which gives you even MORE kills then you get the shite tactical nuke would blasts a loud scream into my ear saying "Infinity Ward are Stupid!"
Teleporting Knife? it's been ages since i played this what have i missed =|

I dread to think what other exploits have been found.

Quite honestly, I hate players like you, OP, because you believe that people should have to use methods that you think take skill. I HATE PEOPLE ONLINE THAT CALL OTHER PEOPLE NOOBS. IT RUINS THE GAME.

I have two things to say to you: First, I never had trouble finding a game. Secondly, dedicated servers. If MW2 had dedicated servers, half the people angry at it would not feel so strongly about it.

I like the game, they just need to tune down the little details so there is so much shit transferring over the internet if they aren't going to use dedicated servers. You can all of the sniper rifles to good effect, there is probably 6 assault rifles you can use. Three of 5 LMGs work pretty well. The Machine Pistols, and shot guns are incredibly effective weapons. The only thing that is really broken is Marathon, lightweight and commando. First 2 because they exploit the lack of dedicated servers. Commando because of the warping and tac knives.

They added barebones play to the game that removes kill streaks, so if you hated kill streaks there you go.

i said unbalanced weapons, because the upgrades are just infuriating sometimes.

also, what's drop shotting?
Its when your running aboot and you run into an enemy and you go prone so its harder to get shot.

I personally don't mind it at all.

You might know it as dolphin diving? It's when people run round a corner and when they see you drop to prone do you can't hit them but they are still spraying everywhere.

Edit:damn ninjas!

the knife. remove that and i'd be a lot happier, then fix the spawn system and remove jumping except to deal with obstacles, and i'd be happy.

I personally don't see the problems. Yea, there are some killstreak rewards that are hard to avoid and can kill a lot of people, but that's the point. You have to try to not get killed by it and if you do, sucks to be you. One of the only problems I've come across is the people who play it. Mostly pre-pubescent spoilt brats who scream down the mics if they got shot and accusing the game of glitching. Also, i'll admit camping and drop-shotting is really annoying but if that's how people are going to play then you have to learn no to charge at people and watch out for them. It's all part of the game, and just because they play differently doesn't make the game bad. It just makes it easier for those players (and yes I know how infuriating it can be to come across a camper who insta-kills you right before you get your best killstreak reward but you have to live with it and play the game)

This could all be solved if PC gamers would realize that the PC versions of multi-platform releases are shit. If it's a multi-platform release, it'd probably be best to play it on a console, because that's what it'll be designed for. BF:BC may be the only exception, which is why so many PC gamers seems to spend so much time fellating it.

I'd rather be small and satisfied than large and unhappy.
I'd rather be large, satisfied, and with a satisfied partner. Wait... we're still talking about games, right?

You should get a copy of Halo 1 for PC. I found it very fun if you get a good server. Very few people play it though.
