For me I don't understand the love of Face Book. People you know or don't know post pointless comments of stuff that they're doing and other random crap that leads to almost zero discussion value whatsoever and play cheap games then tell you about every flipping accompaniment they ever make in the game. When I dont F***ing care! *Phew* Looks like im starting to rant a little =D. I enjoy the peaceful yet hilarious Escapist.

So what do you prefer, Face Book or The Escapist?

EDIT: Im asking which out of the two you like better. Im not saying you have to like them better then any other website just one over the other.

EDIT2: Maybe I should just ask which one do you spend more time on?

Though I use Facebook to keep in touch with old friends I would never likely meet on The Escapist, I do prefer This site.

Escapist, no contest. I use Facebook like a tool for communication only, the Escapist is my online home :D

Also Facebook is where I post what's on my mind. I don't clutter my beloved Escapist with my life.

The escapist since there is always things to watch and good discussions to be had, but facebook isn't that bad of a time killed, especially when you want to catch up with friends.

What the hell?

This is like asking me if I prefer the colour orange or driving a car. Two different things for two different purposes.

Facebook is good for catching up with freinds but the Escapist has very funny and smart people on it unlike most people who use facebook (people who are all ways using Facebook).

Since there's no "other" or "either/neither" option, I had to do "Burn in hell!". Please note that I don't actually want this, I just think that the 2 sites are for completely different things.

Since starting University along with most of my friends, we're now considerably far away from each other (one of my friends is in a completely different part of the country for her particular Uni of choice). And because of this, Facebook has become invaluable to me.

I'll admit, before the end of Year 12, I didn't really use or even care for Facebook that much. But now that I don't get to see my friends every day at school, or even for months on end (between holidays, in which I only get to see some of them at the end of each year anyway), I use Facebook to catch up with friends I don't see often anymore.

I don't do this, and neither do my friends, so... Maybe that helps a bit. :p

The Escapist, on the other hand, I use for lurking/posting with random-but-awesome people who I've never met face-to-face. I don't use it to catch up with friends, I use it to catch up on any gaming-related news, funny videos and chat with (generally) cool people.

...

This post got a bit out of hand. :S
TL;DR: "Both", for me, since I use the 2 sites for completely different things.

Facebook because there is freedom of speech, people with a sense of humour and there people treat the users like human beings

I'm not sure what's being asked. The Escapist and Facebook are two totally different things. It's like comparing Quiznos and Subway. Yes they are both sandwich shops, but they serve totally different niches and provide a different set of options from one another.

If you mean socially, I vote Facebook. As great as this community is here, none of the two friends I have here are people that I know personally. As much as I respect their presence, and as cool as they seem, they aren't real friends. But Facebook allows me to keep up with what's going on in the lives of people that I care about. Sure, there are plenty of lame status updates, but who cares? I don't. The format on Facebook is designed to fill that purpose. The purpose of knowing what is happening in your friends' lives.

The Escapist on the other hand, has all kinds of content. This serves a much different purpose than Facebook. Contentwise, I'll go Escapist. Facebook can't tell me about big developments in the game industry. It can't enlighten me to Yahtzee's or Dan Floyd's ramblings either.

I'd much rather be on the Escapist rather than Facebook. I used to have an account for Facebook but my email was swamped with, "Such-and-such gave you a chicken on farmville.", and I'd have like 30 of those things. It was too damn annoying. Here, I get an message every now and again. So much easier to handle.

Agreed. This thread is a little bit silly. I like both sites.

I find them both to be entirely different, yet I like them almost equally. Granted, I spend much more time on here.

Escapist.
I generally use Facebook just sort out meetings with friends, which I could do over the phone, it's just easier with Facebook.
