As long as they can handle a little good-natured ribbing about their hobby and/or kink, they don't bug me. Furry stuff weirds me out a little, but it's completely harmless, so I don't really care if some people dig it. It's the ones that unironically use the word "fursecution" that I viciously mock until they cry and/or fuck off. I suppose I have less of an issue with with kink (I say whatever gets you of, so long as it isn't hurting anyone, go for it) than with self-righteous tits with persecution complexes.

Honestly, I think EVERYONE should try to laugh at the goofy/strange/whatever things that they like. Turn-ons are weird and freaky and fun, and if we all just accept that, giggle, and move on, things would be easier.

Whether it's tolerance or apathy, a lot of stuff doesn't bother me, furries included.

Be respectful.

Personally, I think they're okay. Some of them are a bit out there and give us bad press (See: Chewfox [Maury], Sabrefox [CSI], Kiira [My Strange Addiction]) but a good percentage are OK people, if a bit nerdy.

in your poll you post a response entitled "KILL IT WITH FIRE" and then say "be respectfull" ...

kind of a weird way to do it aint it???

I´m a furry, have being for several years, never worn a fursuit, never got turned on by real animals, etc etc etc

its a way of presenting one self, wishing to be fused with the characteristics one likes about certain species

thats it.

I am one.

I'd consider myself a furry, if only a light one. I'm a fan of the idea, and it's an appealing art concept, when done in a non-perverse way.

A close friend of mine is a furry. He's alright, a pretty cool guy. Just keep your bloody furpiles away and I'll be happy.

What do I think about them? Bit creepy but I can deal with it.

RANT MODE ACTIVATED (Please don't report me):

What do I want to say to them? Stop being attention whores, most people don't really give a shit about what you're into.

I really hate when someone talks to me and right away states they're a furry, why not just 'Hi, im Bob, nice weather we're having today' I honestly don't need to know about your fetishes so why mention it, it's not a defining factor of who you are so STOP BRINGING IT UP.

There are plenty of people in the world who WILL find it disturbing[footnote]And I see no issue with them for feeling that way, not everyone is going to be tolerant of things they don't like.[/footnote] so stop being so surprised that when you mention it by way of introduction that someone somewhere is going to say nasty shit to you.

It's your own damned faults when people call you names, stop bringing your fetish up in unrelated conversation, keep it to the furry message boards.
you are over generalizing, not everyone does that, I have never done that, hell i expect halve the people that recognize my user name and avatar don´t take me as a furry, i would like you to realize that yes, there are people like that, but taking the whole fandom.

other than that, not everyone is in it for the "fetish" you are confusing "Furry" with "yiffer".... don´t google that with safe search off, being a furry is more about taking an animal and idetifying with it because of the characteristics it represents (IE: I´m a bunny, i like cute, fast and agile, cotton tail, long ears etc.etc.etc) not about the sexualization of anthropomorphic characters. (again, thats a Yiffer)

I frankly don't give a fuck. What people want to do is none of my business. If it's your kink, it's your kink; if it's your lifestyle, it's your lifestyle; if it's your hobby or your interest or your artistic preference, fine, whatever, good for you. If you want to talk to me about it fine, furry is actually pretty interesting. If you don't, fine. I don't find it particularly weird. It makes you happy, you're not hurting anyone, go ahead. FFS, you don't need my permission. It's literally none of my business.

Why do people even care?

And you have to admit, most non-sexual anthro art does look pretty cool. Animals with human characteristics. It's Disney all over again.

I don't understand why Furries are hated so much more than, say, someone who likes bein' tied up. If that's what does it for you, then that's what does it for you.

Really, I think it should be treated the same as religion (No, not worshipping the one true furry god.) something you practice in private or in groups of people who have the same feelings or beliefs.

You can't complain about someone talking about it when you specifically go to their place of gathering, you can only complain when it starts to pop up in public.

Meh, they don't bother me. I don't kill anything with fire.
Except spiders... FUCK Spiders!

I don't, to be honest. It's live and let live as far as I'm concerned. They're not my kind of people, but hey, every person has his quirks.

I chose kill it with fire. They wouldn't bother me if they didn't openly swing it around that they are one and put furry pornography everywhere.

Yeah, but the "Yiffers" (*sigh*) have taken the term "Furry" over in average conversation. And you non-sexual Furries are just going to have to get over that fact, I hate to say. Not all furries are wanking to anthro stuff, but enough of them are that it's become interchangeable in the common lexicon.

And yeah, not all furries are irritatingly pushy about it. Not all members of ANY group are overbearing, loud-mouthed wastes of skin, but they ARE the most vocal, and therefore, that subset of furries is likely who his statement was directed at.

I apologise for my accidental generalisation, it seems that in my rant mode I forgot to mention I have no problem with people who don't try shoving it in my face.

I will update my first reply post-haste.
