I'm going to sign my death warrant here (something I seem to do alot on these forums) and say that I like Bethesda. Fallout 1 and 2 were masterpieces in their own right, but I for one loved the way Bethesda took the series. I'm not a huge fan of NV setting-wise; for me it's set too far into the future of the Fallout world, and I actually forgot I was in a post-apocalyptic wasteland for a decent chunk of it. I loved the world in Fallout 3, however, because it was the opposite. I really got a feeling of the worldwide devastation.

Now that I'm off my soapbox, I agree with most in that I think another Fallout could do with an engine change and a bit more beta testing to get rid of the bugs. Also a more hardcore Hardcore mode (if that makes any sense), as well as no more fast travel.

I'd really like pistols especially revolvers to be more supported by the perks, they were the only guns that I really liked in the game. Towards the end of it, they just ended up being underwhelming when compared to other common setups.

I want me some Fallout: London, I mean GTA did the whole London thing and that worked out pretty well so why not Fallout?

Generally I think they should make it more roleplay focused, the combat is ok the way it is, could always use some tweaks/more variety etc. but I think the key thing will be a more dynamic world. The factions system was a step in the right direction but you never really feel the impact of it except for in the ending spiel. It's a lot of work sure and plays havoc with scripting conflicts if you don't do it right but I think it's well worth the extra effort.

Fallout has focused on the West and the East U.S. so far. I think Fallout Tactics covered the mid-west but I never played it. They haven't touched on the South U.S. but, while it would be interesting to see how cities like Atlanta and St. Augustine would appear in the Fallout universe, I think it would be more interesting to be playing in Mexico (I thought Raul's stories were interesting) or Canada. It should also go through a rigorous QA phase to make sure 90-95% of the bugs are ironed out. I'm one of the unlucky ones when it comes to broken playthroughs of New Vegas. One of the drawbacks of playing on consoles, I suppose.

Where is the 'all of the above' button?

Well except having it somewhere in the US. A big part of the whole fallout feel is that it's based on 1950's values in America.
Not sure that would translate to anywhere else. Sorry.
Well, adding an "All of the above" button wouldn't make musch sense, as most of people would press that, and there would be no real statistic to it
I'm aware of that my good escapist. I was just saying they're all excellent points.
Cept the 'somewhere other than US' thing.

Why is it the most popular pick then?

I would want:

1. More available skill points/ability to be good at multiple skills. (New Vegas screwed this up.)
2. Bigger differences in weapons and armor- not just variations of the same weapon with minor changes of stats up or down.
3. More Faction-related Companions. Something that reinforces the importance of the moral choices and not 'well a couple of them only go with you if you're Evil'.

a few reasons;
People on here are from all corners of the globe. And would very much like to see the rest of the mythos expanded because they anticipate something grand. My thought is that rubble is rubble. I personally didn't see a drastic difference in the aesthetic of fallout 1 & 2. Other than the 'landmarks' in Fallout 3 and New Vegas they were also pretty similar. So, setting that in say... france isn't going to change much.,. Or even brazil, because a rainforest after a nuclear apocalypse looks a lot like a desert, mountains or a swamp after the bomb goes off.
It looks like a big damn wasteland.

And once again I will state that the entire feel, is 1950's AMERICA [a href=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RetroUniverse]retro stylleee[/a] from the music, the decor, and even the values of the survivors.

If you move that to Japan or Briton it loses the entire feel, the retro art style, and even the hypocritical values of the 1950's. It would change it so completely that they might as well call it something else.
Or
If they KEEP that style it would soil the fallout universe making it feel they didn't put forth the effort to figure out how these other nations would've developed with this alternate history.

That being said; China MIGHT work if they don't retcon the shit out of it.

No bugs and to take place in some part of Canada.
I was also going to write Canada. Fallout: New Ottawa would be pretty cool.

A Fallout game set in Mexico could also be potentially awesome.

Get to play as the guy locked in a vault with nothing but women. The one with one woman and all men would be like a rape/gangbang simulator. And use the Skyrim engine, hopefully it's not buggy as shit as well. Also something along the lines of minecraft's world generator, where the key points never change, but the wilderness changes with every new game you start.

I was thinking something held in the Atlantic Provinces personally or maybe Vancouver mainly because I'd love to see an Underwater Vault and find out what the studio (Hopefully not Obsidian) comes up with for how the area would have been like pre-war and after the fact.
