you know its bad that my first thought was 3.14 even though thats pi

anyway i refer to both, i mean come on you can not deny the manliness of apple pie. If you can, well i think you and i have a problem here, the problem is PIE!

i think i took that one a wee bit too far there.

No such thing as bad pie, but, if given the choice between a meat pie and a fruit pie (or rather, sweet pie), I would always choose the latter over the former.

Other: Pie is something that you should never eat because, oh my god, it is so unhealthy. Only fat people eat meat pies. That is my opinion.
Only a loser cares about such idiocies such as "healthiness".

Both of course! Is this question being asked because in America they don't really have savoury pies? Which always confused me as a good savoury pie or pasty makes my day.

Why try and choose between the two?: "Cheese and Onion Pie for dinner", "Apple Pie for dessert" =D

Steak and kidney pie.

Yum!

Seriously, a culture that only makes sweet pies is a culture that is missing the finest expression of the pie experience.

Although I'm favorable of both types of pie, my mind imagines a fruit pie before a meat pie (Therefore, I picked fruit). They both fit any situation, as deliciousness inside of a pastry dough that is completely covered.

When I think of pie, fudge pie is what comes to mind.
And chocolate meringue.

so I think of chocolate pies

There are meat pies, the one and only, and then there are sweet/fruit tarts and slices. That's how I've always seen it.

But then I live in New Zealand, the home of delicious meat pies, bro. They're sweet as.

Pie is something wrapped in pastry...

Although real pies have 4 and twenty blackbirds in them... somehow still alive after being baked!

Also, Pork Pies... Steak and Guinness... Steak and Kidney, Pasties (cornish of course) Chicken and Mushroom, Chicken and Vegetable... and all of the less popular, but equally awesome flavours of meat and gravy filled pies...!

A pie has meat, sometimes cheese. A pie is an icon of New Zealand. A pie is a $2 Big Ben/Irvines from the school tuck shop/local dairy. A pie is every Kiwi's one true food love. A pie is a thing of beauty.

And as always...

Doesn't that sentence need another word? Sweet as....lemons????
Either you're not familiar with Kiwi slang, or you're trying to say that pies should have fruit in them, in which case shame on you!

Overall, I prefer fruit pies. The deliciousness knows no bounds.

Reading this thread has given me a huge craving for Banana Cream Pie.

I'll go with both.

"Sweet as" means something? lol
In New Zealand, we have a habit of saying something is "whatever as" but not completing the saying. I think it's a way of saying it is exactly the same value as the word itself, rather than something else.

So instead of "Sweet as pie" we'd just say "sweet as." It can also work with other adjectives, like "Cool as" or "mean as".

Just to over-complicate everything there. :p In other news - pies are delicious.
