Well, hate destroys the one hates, but love is all you need (sorry, couldn't resist).

But in all seriousness, if I may I'd like to point out that what Hugh Grant said at the start of Love, Actually, is absolutely true - None of the messages people sent to their loved ones from the planes that went down in the tragedy of September 11th were messages of hate. They were full of love, only love. Surely, that proves that at the end of the day, in the final moment love with win out and thus love > hate?

The fact that people can bludgeon or skin an animal while it is still living and not actually hate it, just do it for money shows how evil humanity is. Even through love, evil is born. Aside from Max, I refute almost everything you write there.

Wars are almost never from hate alone, especially the world wars. They were, basically, sparked by greed, either for money, land or power, and all those are arguably closer to love than hate.

As to hate building on itself, have you never been in love? It too builds on itself echoing and resonating, consuming almost every thought in your mind. And I doubt you get all consuming hatred that is evident in your mind, every waking moment.

And while it is true that you die alone, there's no proof that you die unloved.

There's isn't a lot true hate in this world you know, most of the time, media influences us into hating, even if they stay 'neutral'. War is the best example, I suppose... The enemy, we should hate the enemy, but you KNOW the enemy? Does the enemy know you? That just conditioned hate.

Oh, I haven't given up on humanity. I'm also not saying that love is the whole PURPOSE for humanity to continue to exist. Love is an ideal. A silly, stupid absolute ideal. Many would say it's an impossible ideal as well. I'm not saying it's impossible, jut weak.

You seem to be missing the point of what love is. It means that no matter what there is a bond there that nothing can break. It isn't defined by you and the person you love being together, its a bond even if the two of you separate or stop seeing each other that bond is still there because you love eachother. When you love someone you care about them deeply, you care about their own happiness more than your own. Love is a bond that means the two of you will alwase have someone you can count on for a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on no matter what. Love means to accept and understand someone else completely, to accept them for their faults and stand by them no matter what.

It is very hard to find someone to share your heart with on that level, someone you can trust completely. That is why love i so hard to find. The half assed relationships that make up your little statistics are not true love. People misuse the word because they do not know what it means. If you end up bitterly hating the person you where with, guess what? It wasn't really love.
