Pick any topic that exists, and there will be millions of people around to hate on it. More specifically, I'd say Call of Duty gets a lot of hate around these parts.

Eh, hating FF13 isn't too cool anymore, since FF14 came out and was even more shitty, but even the hate for that has moved along, though I personally hate Square and everything they do, I have never made a hate thread about it, or anything in particular, and probably never will. Really the hate has died down, though it springs back up whenever news of a new FF shows up.

Twilight is always hated, and unlike the other options, there really aren't any fans around to defend it, and with no fans bother, hate threads don't really stick around.

I have honestly not seen a single MLP hate thread, then again I haven't been looking. I do think they're kinda silly, I personally hate the connection to 4chan it has and I'm looking forward to this particular trend passing, but honestly, I have yet to see any hate for it.

Bayformers? Been too long since the last movie came out, people don't entirely care right now. They probably will when the new one comes out, though.

Ah yes, Sony. Honestly, this is probably the most popular thing to hate right now, on your list atleast, but there are still more sony supporters than there are sony haters, by my count. again, this trend will pass, and people will go back to hating other things.

Honestly, I'd say Halo, CoD and FPS in general are a usual safe bet around here for "things the escapist community hates on". I'd also say BioWare is getting quite a bit of hate lately, partially left over from Dragon Age 2, and more yet from people jumping to conclusions about some of the recent news about Mass Effect 3. Hard to tell if it's around the same level of Sony hate at the moment, but I've begun trying to make a habit of just avoiding anything that might be a hate thread around here. Makes the site a lot more pleasant to be on.

Christians (but no other religion)

I don't know, people seem to say religion in general here a lot compared to other places of the internet. I don't hear "Christians are evil, Buddists are cool, and I'm too afraid to be called racist to say anything about Islam" as much as "I blame every single one of the worlds problems on religion".

Often, "religion" is used as a discreet way of saying Christianity, as evidenced by policies preventing Christian worship in the same areas they allow Muslim prayer rugs in DC alone. You see, Christianity is a "religion," Islam and Buddhism are "cultures." The double standard is there in practice, I've seen it. I haven't been to a single school that hasn't allowed Jewish or Muslim celebrations, but if somebody sees a Bible in my bag I get berated for trying to shove my religion on people. It's okay to hate on Christianity, you hear it on TV programs, the news, coming out of the mouths of our politicians, and pretty much everywhere else. But the moment someone berates Islam, they're less than human. Sure there are some who hate all religions, but how many can honestly say that when they say "religion" they don't mean "western religion, namely Christianity?"

I've been on the Escapist for a while now, and I love the forums for its (mostly) well informed discussion and debate, but the cynicism has gotten a little out of hand as of late. Whether this is new or something I just noticed, it feels really exteme lately.


Maybe when Half-Life 3 is officially announced at E3 it will all blow over.

Seriously, that "why aren't people hating on the hackers?" crap is getting old. It's pretty much implied that just about every last Playstation Network member wants to see the bastards responsible for the intrusion brought to justice.

Just saying is all. Its wasting a lot of time being mad at a company that in the end wont pay out as much as people want. And even if they want to, they can certainly get off Sony's ass and stop the bitching and moaning and doing that thing called Checking your credit.
