I love this movie. And Mei is the most awesome animated character I've seen since Bugs Bunny.

It's not Miyazaki's best movie (that goes to Spirited Away), but everything about it just emits this wonderful sense of innocence.

My personal favorite is Porco Rosso but I voted for My Neighbor Totoro

As much as I loved everything I've seen from Studio Ghibli, Totoro is the only one I'd feel 100% comfortable showing to anyone of any age. I think I'd be safe in the assumption that they would find something to like about it.

Agreed. Since I watched the movies at a young age (which I'm thankful for) Spirited Away freaked me out and gave me nightmares. Mostly about being left behind.

Totoro, very easily. I saw it as a kid, and it made a big impact on me. But it's not just nostalgia, I still like it.
