Sweet!

I'm glad to see that the poll shows more people like it!

I love it, and am really seeing it as worth it's small fee. (I will list the games if you ask me to.)

I hope that PSN can catch up (and be as important) to me some time soon!

Let us all support small Dev's and help them get a chance!

If the game is good enough, we have no reason not to enjoy it, eh?

I reckon it's bullshit personally. I don't wanna pay to use internet I've already paid for, regardless of the games the 360 may have, I don't reckon it's worth it, same as MMOs.

Why would you pay for internet twice on 360 when you could get it for free on PC and even PS3? It just doesn't make sense to me.
Because you aren't paying for the internet twice. There is alot of value in having a Gold membership once people get past all the stereotypes and the initial "OMG I am paying for the internet twice". First off is all the contests. Every week there is at least one to win anything from 1000 point card (for me value at about 15 bucks) to entire home theatre systems and new 360s (sometimes special, signed or dipped in gold). And all you have to do is enter is download a gamerpic (which are on average about 20KB) and some are pretty cool. I am rockin a Batman pic I got from entering a contest. Every week content goes on sale. If I had been patient I could have bought all the Dragon Age Origins (including Awakenings) DLC for half price. That would have saved me 30-40 bucks if I had taken advantage of it. Now you throw MP and party chat (and all the other bells and whistles) on top of that for 60 bucks a year (I am sorry but if you are buying by the month you are foolish) then how is that not a good deal?
Dude, I don't care. With the Party system Xbox live has become a dishevelled piece of work compared to when it was released.
Oh you are just trolling. Kay then!!

Xbox Live Home = oh nevermind..

both are great I don't see how XBL is owrth the mone seeing as how it really isn't better than PSN. Sure you can mute people but don't give a shit about what people are saying online. (I listen to music while I play). And the XBLA titles aren't really that much compared to the ones on PSN.
While the arcade titles are a matter of opinion, even aggregate score sites like Metacritic will give XBLA the edge in the number of high-quality releases available on it. Also, Party Chat is awesome and I just find the connectivity to be better overall. Once again, for those of us like myself that have a shit-ton of money, $50 a year doesn't matter. What does matter is that I wanna play Halo and Gears online.

It is better that PSN but not great. I used to love it until MW2. Now, every time I play it, I get messages from 12 year old kids asking me if I want to quickscope or boost. Those kids have ruined it, pure and simple.

Why do people have such a cow about paying for Gold? The benefits improve every year and because you can get plenty of value out of paying for 12 months, I'd say that it's a small sacrifice for all the good that comes with it.

Do you still live in 2008 then? Seriously, RRoD hasn't been a problem with new 360's for almost 2 years. Get over it people.

If having to pay for LIVE is such a bad idea, why does PS+ exist? I know PSN is free online MP, but I'm betting you Sony is regretting that every day.

Im curious about this. Are you just extremely violent with your controllers or something because I have never heard of a ps3 controller breaking. This is coming from somebody who throws them around as well. Sure my origional one sometimes rattles alittle but it works perfectly fine.
I'm talking over close to a decade. Right around now there are a lot of broken official DS2 controllers, and I refuse to buy any second hand because of that. They'll wear out eventually, whether it's the analog sticks getting loose or the battery losing charge or something else, they're just not going to last forever. It might not happen, but at some point, if you have your PS3 for 10 years you'll need to get a new controller.

And it's come back for the really new ones. Removing LEDs and shrinking the warranty does not inspire confidence in me, and teardowns have shown it's just as susceptible.

Personally, I HATE XBL. It's total bullshit that you have to pay for Multiplayer, Updates, and Other game features which are all available for FREE on PC. It's just another way of Microsoft to stick their hands into our pockets, as if they didn't have enough money already.

Its alright, I understand other people's complaints but I like what I get for the amount of money I pay. Its very easy to get around the menus and I especially like the videos that I don't have to download to watch like insider moves and IGN Strategize. I also seem to have a better time playing games online with my Xbox than my PS3, probably due to the fact that I already had been playing for around a year when I got my PS3 and since the only games I play online are Killzone 2 and Resistance: Fall of Man. I would try Metal Gear Online but I don't want to download 5 hours worth of updates and I would try LBP but I don't really know anybody who has it. As for the community, I'd say that the image of it are slightly exaggerated but yes it is pretty bad at some points but really it comes down to the game. Rainbow Six Vegas seems pretty nice as does Farcry 2 while its hit or miss with Battlefield Bad Company 2. As for the Modern warfare games, well you might want to play that game without a mic.

Because on another system you can get the discounts, free games (different) every month, early access to betas, premium dynamic themes free, the ps *ahem system will turn itself on to update your games and itself, all the accounts on th system have access to these privleges and yes there is party chat (and you can include yourr non subscriber friends into it). For $50 I can get a lot more bang for my buck.
Whoah slow it up there a bit. You don't get "free games" you are paying a rental fee on those games. And paying for your console to turn itself on and update for you should be a free feature. Unless of course you can give me a reason as to why I should have to wait while my 70 dollar games gets patched.

Yes but the same can be said about XBL. Aren't you 'renting' the ability to play online? If you stop paying you don't have theonline play or the discounts. The update thing is just a small perk. But hey, my Xbox doesn't turn on to update my games etc...

I think you wait to get your $70 games (where do you live mine are most $65) so it can make your gme more enjoyable (isn't that what patches are for?) o_O. When you download patches for games on 360 don't you have to wait? Its a small perk thats all...

Ok first XBL is a service that is more than just playing MP. I am also paying for special membership discounts, demos, contests and the occasional free game (which I do not rent, if I stop paying I still get to keep those games) That is what I am paying for. I am not paying to rent games that is not what I signed up for. That is what I pay Blockbuster every month for. Difference being when I walk into Blockbuster the guy behind the counter doesn't tell me you get this game or none.

Now if XBL started charging for their background download ability (it allows you to start downloading any DLC or arcade title and then turn off your system while it downloads) a free feature to all silver and gold. A little feature that doesn't hurt and can actually help if you are like me and have crap internet. That would be the equivalant of what Sony did almost. The difference being I am buying a full game or DLC not fixing one that is broken. I am sorry but putting out a patch that fixes broken things in a 70 dollar game is not a "game enhancement" that is finally getting what I paid for. A working non glitchy game. And for 70 bucks a pop before tax I think I deserve that much (I live in Ontario BTW).

Before I start cyber hifive! I live in Brampton, Ontario; Canadians ftw!

Ps3 cn also background download the thing I mentioned below was that for the erk you get with PS+ the ps3 would turn itself on ad download the updates for you. Lets say you leave yur ps3 on standby and go to the mall. By the time you come back the system would have updated itself (if necessary) and your games as well. As a bonus (because your ps3 loves you) it will download any new popular demos.

As for XBL I'm not the type to be buying stuff online so I basically only go online to seither play MP games or donload demos/free themes. PS+ gives you four new games per month (as opposed to the occasional 'one' you may or may not get with XBL) and 2 free premium themes (that non PS+ members have to pay for and you get to keep unlike the games) and avatars each month. Sure you don't keep the games but its a service. Do yo keep those member discounts, MP privlige, and party chat as a silver member? No.

P.S. When do you get free games from XBL? I haven't used my 360 in a while. Are tey won in contests or are the free giveaways?

It's cheaper and easier to use than a gaming PC, plus all the comforts I would require if I were transfer to PC gaming (joypad, cord to use my TV as a monitor and speakers) and I like the ability to surf the web while waiting for something to load, and the fact that there's a decent chance I would have to share this hypothetical computer with my family. So...yeah, I like my xbox, and I like my xbox live.

I forget where I was going with this.

I enjoyed 1 vs 100 during the winter while I was living in my hometown (where I no longer have friends). That and the Netflix, which would still be cool to have. My Xbox died a few months ago, and after drinking a good bit of bourbon I gave all my games (Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age, Fight Night Round 4, Forza 3, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV) to my roommate. It would have been nice to sell those instead like I usually do, but I'm a generous drunk and he took me up on the offer. So having nothing, I decided to let my Gold subscription just run out. Then I get an email telling me it has been renewed on it's on. Son of a *****.

Then I got on the phone with someone with a tenuous grasp of the English language and told them to cancel it. Auto-renewal. Sneaky bastards.
