I am an intense coward. After the Dunwich building (which I happened upon wondering the wastes) I put that goddamn game away for more than a month.
I think the potential fear factor that may have existed was more or less ruined by the simple fact that I stumbled in there as a level 20 character wearing power armor and having slaughtered every single thing that had the audacity to show up as red on my overview. In order to be scared, I have to feel vulnerable. When I'm playing as a walking tank who has left nothing but smoking corpses in my wake for the last 30 hours, things that go bump in the night offer no terror; indeed, they ought to fear my tresspass more than anything.

well. 10 for me. Absolutely love horror films, and horror games (even better when a mate is playing them cause i scare the shite out of them, like the ninja cats). I now have a bad habit of guessing the ending to Horror films. With games and my sometimes idiotic parents i got de-sensitized quickly as my dad would help me with DOOM back when i was in grade 1-2. The only things that have an effect on me are the "shock" moments when something comes round the corner at the speed of light to bite your head off (and my reactions are:jump, accidentally hit the mousepad on my laptop causing it to usually die and then think, meh).
Played silent hill 2, was fun.
Fatal frame X->(the one with the twin sisters think it was NO2), FEAR MY CAMERA!!!!! (some cutscenes were evil though).
Doom 3, too repetitive to be scary, lights go off, kill things, lights come on, proceed to next room, repeat.
FEAR.. not that scary, although there are 2 parts, one: the ladder scene, and 2: where ALMA runs out of a cubicle at you, the second is scary because you usually miss it so next playthrough it suprises the shite out of ya.
currently playing Condemned: criminal origins, nice atmosphere scares, eg: go down corridor and instead of seeing movement between the slightly ajar door and the frame, the door closes.
currently got my stalker game somewhere on my hard drive, you guys have inspired me to play it again. :p

I don't care much. The only time a game makes me "scared" is with the trademarked "Boo! Made ya jump" moments, that's not true fear, and it only works once. I never watch a screen with the lights off, or with bad lighting, however, as it hurts my eyes and makes it hard to concentrate on the game.

Normally, around an eight. Though I don't often play games that are designed to be scary. Though I have completed Resident Evil 1-3 and Silent Hill 1 & 2 on my own. If poison headcrabs or similarly spideresque monsters are included though, I immediately drop to about a five or six. Curse my arachnophobia.
Same problem. Except for insects in general. I stopped playing Fallout 3 when I first saw the giants ants. I almost lost it when your father hands you that BB gun and tells you to kill the Radroach. Amazingly enough, I managed to defeat the Ant Queen in that one quest, I did it with my eyes closed though.

It's even worse when it comes to spiders. When I played DA:O as a Magi, I would always report Jowan's plan to escape with his lover to Irving because I didn't want to do the sidequest of cleaning out the storage full of spiders for the request form.

I'm a 9. Horror games usually don't freak me out but every now and then I'll get a little nervous while playing a Silent Hill game.

I can honestly say 1. I can not play Condemned, tried and at least 5 separate occasions and I still can't manage to get over my fears. But what's weird is I'm perfectly fine playing everything else. FEAR, STALKER, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, those japanese horror camera games, I'm perfectly comfortable with these, no problem what so ever. I find it amusing when the horrible monster creeps up on me, they're not "horror" to me.

Condemned however.

Prolly a 9. I don't really play horror games, but I don't get scared, except maybe a jump if it's one of those pop up, grab you, proceed to eat your face off games.

10. Not a lot of games scare me until I start to think about the imagery, and even then it's not very frightening, just interesting.

Only one game has ever given me a nightmare anyways. Eff you Forest Temple.

I'm probably somewhere between 8 and 9. But I haven't played many horror games.

10. I went and played Condemned for the first time in one night, slept with the lights off. Danced in the raining body parts.

I said 9. I've had a few spooked moments, but it was only the initial encounter that got me and beyond that I wouldn't really have an issue. Condemned 2, the bear part, scared the hell out of me at first, but after that it was an awesome adrenaline rush.

I would say i'm a 9. Only thing that has made me tense is Silent Hill 2 with headphones, at 3am, lights off. door closed, close to the screen and sound up.
