I had a dark thought about whether humanity was worth saving at all, but decided instead to see what you guys think about it.

In the case of world shattering disaster, where a flying hero, or whatever you want to save people, shows up, would you be one of the important people worth saving? What skills do you have to make sure you will be saved? Do you even have skills worth saving?

Just think about it. What makes you special enough to be saved from certain doom?

I've been told I can be extremely funny sometimes, so I might get taken along for the morale. However, I've often been told I sound even funnier over a radio/phone/etc, so they may decide to leave me behind.

Hopefully the disaster is a zombie apocalypse, so that I'm set either way.

Well, I'm usually told I'm really intelligent for my age, but I'm not some kind of child prodigy. I don't have any special 'special' skills, if you know what I mean.

I think a lot of people hope the world starts to end with a zombie apocalypse. You should be fine though, as morale is important!

Went with the shallow one of looking good, but hey if the world is going to hell looking good helps with procreation, right? Besides that, I guess I have above average intellegence, but nothing that really qualifies me to be saved out of a group. Perhaps, I would give my safety to someone else, a child that would otherwise be doomed while I allow the earth to swallow me whole.

I'll make sure your saved, only because your avatar is the best(you've been on my friends list forever and I've never talked to you, that saddens me)

Thats actually pretty selfless right there. You might get saved just because your average, and are willing to sacrifice!

Well, I'm not physically good at anything due to a condition that renders several bones practically useless without pain medication...
I guess I'm slightly above average in Math, and above average in vocabulary
but I don't think that's worth saving me over.

I still worry, because they can leave me behind with a radio and ring me up when they're bored. I'm sure my screams for help and mercy from the almighty would amuse them as well as anything I say normally, because it's when I get angry or stressed that I pop my greatest lines.

I don't think my skills would really be considered essential in the case of a world-ending apocalypse. I'm probably above the average intelligence for my age, but that's not really saying that much since I'm sure there are much smarter people.

The only skill I can think of that would be helpful if the world ended is my ability to hide my emotions to the point where I could be used as a sort of therapist for the rest of the survivors, since they'd all be freaking out and I could calm them down by being strong while only freaking out on the inside.

Interesting question. You're basically asking me what my good points are. Well,

Aside from the fact that I specialize in overseeing the big picture, have survival as a hobby and am virtually all about threading new ground and establishing order upon it, I am extremely good with people, up to the point where I can A) know what they're like by merely looking at them and B) know how to solve 99% of their problems. Then there's the fact that I am a fan of the platonic way of discussion (which means "learn to or learn from", not "take a stance and convert people") and full-time agnost which allows me to keep my judgement as to not insult anyone unneeded (even though I think I already know what you are like, I will not change my attitude in a way noticeable by you before I see proof of my anticipations). Add in the fact that I am incredibly upright, think very well about all my decisions and have good idea what having a true purpose in life is like, and I'd get close to being my own version of the perfect human.

If we've a true hero doing the saving, my individual merits (or lack thereof) shouldn't particularly matter.

Fairly creative topic, actually. Bravo, op.

Pshhh I know I'll be saved. I am secretly the villain that caused the world ending event, thus mandated to survive until the final showdown between myself and the so called "hero". After my eventual defeat I'll escape right then or be locked away in a location that I will escape from so I can try another scheme down the line.

Ya never know man. Perhaps you are worth keeping around cause you know what pain is like all the time. Useful stuff!

That would get boring though. Would it not better to annoy you at certain times, and have access to do so? I mean, though your lines would no doubt be amazing, it would be better in small bursts right?

Well, its all your judgement. If you think you got some skills, chances are you are worth saving. And a psychologist is always useful. You should be fine!

Sir, you sound like someone with a plan. You will likely be rescued, and perhaps a leader of the survivors!

Everyone says I am funny and intelligent, I can kind of play the guitar, I can basically cook, I know how to use a soldering gun, I can change tires, I can assemble and dissemble computers, and I have some karate and small-arms training. The real problem is my personality, I am incredibly lazy and my personality varies from Rorschach to Travis Bickle to pseudo-intellectual-know-it-all. I guess I could be the comic-relief, then the hero would be contractually obligated to save me.

Why you sneaky....! Plot armor huh? Very impressive!

I suppose some people would be sad if I died? I can run pretty well, if that helps.
Well, perhaps you can outrun the disaster, and escape on your own!

Thanks. This is less about the hero though, and more about self examination! What do you think makes you kick ass?
