System of a down.

I always associate myself with it and bring it up whenever someone ask what music I like/ suits my personality.

TOOL and A Perfect Circle.

Basically no one in my school knows who they are 'cept for me. They are my themed bands as well.

19th-century Romantic Period, primarily operatic overtures and shorter orchestral pieces. Though I do appreciate the entirety of Beethoven's 9th. Sometimes. When I have the time to listen to it all.
Niiiice. More of a Mozart fan myself, though I've always got time for Beethoven :)

OT: mostly I listen to pretty eccentric stuff. As it says on my profile, I'm a huge fan of Beirut, Yann Tiersen, and Anamanaguchi. I like music as long as it's crazy and whirling and emotional and intense and leaves me feeling like I've just been on a journey. :D

I listen to mainly metal, with a smattering of classic rock. There's a handful of other genres and types that I like some samples of, but the majority I tend to dislike. I primarily listen to Iron Maiden, Crystal Eyes, Metallica, and Elvenking.

Anything, but my friends most note me for listening to "strange" bands from other countries besides the US and the UK. You guys will probably have heard of some of 'em, but so far no one I've met in actual outside life has.

Bands like The Knife, Sigur Ros, Nephew, Mew, Mum, DJ Krush, Mono etc. (also thanks to these forums Kaizer's Orchestra and Machinae Supremacy are some new favorites of mine).

Listening to music from other countries is a great way to learn about their culture through a normally unseen perspective. :D

Metal, especially prog, but I don't limit myself to it. I listen to plenty of classic rock, punk, and some jazz and classical. However, nearly all of my favorite bands are prog metal, so I'll go with that.

Also, GIRUGAMESH!
This.

Or, any other Visual Kei/J-rock/J-pop/K-pop/K-metal/C-metal/C-pop/R-pop/classical/techno/OSTs...
But whenever I walk down the street, I'm always playing SotC fight music because it makes me feel epic. So I associate myself with that, I guess~.

Amongst friends and aquaintances, I'm the guy who likes something of everything. Its impossible for me to hate a genre, just certain artists in a genre. I can usually find at least one song by anyone that I enjoy. Exceptions are Mindless Self Indulgence and Lady Gaga. They offer me nothing.

If I had to narrow it down to one genre though, progressive rock/metal. Bands like Closure in Moscow, Dream Theater, and Tides of Man are what gets me addicted.
