I'm not entirely sure this is a gaming poll, but what setting would you like to live in and why? I'm not really sure which setting I'd prefer, as long as I could continue to brew beer, I'd be happy.

Probably Biblical or Zombies as they're the pussies of the categories available.

I've gotta go with atomic wasteland, I've spent far too long playing the Fallouts and Paranoias of the gaming world to say anything different.

Also OP, may I suggest Global Energy Shortage (Mad Max) as another option?

A "ran out of beer" disaster environment. I gave up drinking so that would actually bode well for me!

WEll, let's see:

Nuclear: DNA shredding radiation everywhere
Biblical: The horrors of the dark Ages unleashed over the world
A bit of water
A coldfront
falling rocks
Shambling Corpses
And a bad case of the sniffles

I'll go for the water, I think.

zompocalypse for me; all the live-fire practice you could ask for, and if your gonna die, you can go out in a blaze of glory, instead of radiation poisoning...

I picked "other". Allow me to explain my choice.

In Homeworld, you command a fleet, the mothership of which contains all that remains of your own species - some 500,000 people or so - in cryo-storage. The reason there's such an utterly microscopic amount left is because the Taiidan Empire, a despotic and crumbling realm extending across the vastness of space, chose to set fire to the atmosphere of your world - named Kharak - and exterminate everyone on it. The only reason the Mothership survived is because it was on the outskirts of the Kharak system, testing its hyperdrive, as the atrocity was committed. Now, the scant survivors struggle towards their ancestral homeworld - right at the heart of the Taiidan Empire - in a desperate attempt to reclaim it.

I'd say that qualifies as post-apocalyptic - but you either stay in cryo-storage, thus remaining peacefully asleep throughout the whole event; or get access to comfortable living quarters, sanitation, weapons with which to take revenge, and above all... hope.

That's probably cheating, but I don't care. Homeworld is the best post-apocalyptic setting, IMO.

Well, zombies are AWESOME, but also SCARY and DANGEROUS.

So I will go with plague, since that is no threat once it has happened.

Depends what type of zombies and what type of plague. If the plague is an airborne one, definitely not, but if not maybe. And as for zombies, it comes down to the eternal question of: the fast or the slow ones? I mean slow ones are nasty, but get yourself a nice setup eg Dawn of the Dead (original) and you have an easy enough life ahead of you.

Nuclear would be fun, but civilization would be shot to shit, so no more buildings or comforts, at least in Zombie World there is loads to salvage. Massive floods would again mean you need a boat to do anything really, and climate change, well I don't fancy living in an Ice Age. I imagine the meteor would have the same affect as Nuclear War really, although I dunno about radiation etc, from meteors. Final option of Biblical, well its not real, so nothing actually changes, so yeah actually, Biblical.

Depends on what kind of zombies they are. Slow, shambling guys? Sure, no prob. Fucking track star zombies? Yeah, problem.

It's got to be nuclear for the very simple reason that games like Fallout massively exaggerate how bad a nuclear war would be. Sure millions would be dead and there would be no Sky for a while but the government would survive plus loads of remote places would be fine. Also radioactive fallout decays quickly so outdoors would be fine after about a month (and any plant life is good eating so long as you clean the fallout off). I would be terrible in a post apocalyptic anything because of the million things in a day i need to do to stop myself feeling miserable but if I had to pick it would be nuclear.

like so many others zombie.
depending on what zombie it is like slow of fast, if you mean fast the nuclear.
if they are slow zombies i have a certain long handled sledge hammer to meet them.
