hey! HEY! We aren't all like that. I was praying for japan and donating (well I couldn't donate unfortunately... :/) but if you take a look most of those people are from the south... so just ignore the U.S.'s lower half, inbreeding has taken its toll there :/

And yes, americans suck, blah blah blah...

Ah, you assume bad stuff happens to people you think deserve it.
...No, it's just that people won't really want to be friends with people who hate people for war events that happened before they were alive.
But there are many nations that still hate a rival country that hasn't gone to war with them in decades. It's not that unusual.

I want to kick the people posting those kinds of messages in the bollocks, yes. But I'd also like a shot at the douchebag who decided to caption his picture "Americans: assholes of the world". Gee thanks, I love being called an asshole because some people are too stupid to remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The thing that baffled me most about those pictures was that the collagist thought that a stranded cat was equatable to a mother gripping her dead child. I pity the disconnection these Americans feel for their fellow man. Their lives must feel so empty.
That's just how humans work. We refuse to understand what something truly shocking means, but are moved to tears by small details.
The death of a man is a tragedy, the death of a million is a statistic. Same thing goes for dead children and stray kittens.

And not like you'd have to go to the US to hear idiots. Visit your pub on a friday night, and ask everyone in there what they're thinking about the earthquake in Japan. Chances are you'll find at least a few with equally insulting opinions.

EDIT: doesn't mean though it isn't a tad worrisome that apparently at least these guys were more aware of Pearl Harbor than that they returned the favor in the form of two nukes.

Maybe start teaching a bit less "american" history, and a bit more history of all the other countries?

Not even counting that Pearl Harbor was a purely military operation, specifically targeting military installations, and mainly killing soldiers.

So theres a picture that finds like 20 examples of people being hate mongering jerks and all of a sudden that is the opinions of 100% of americans? Really? Do any of you saying that see your own hypocrisy or no? Yes the people saying that are horrible people, but are people so ignorant that they think this is common?

As an American I can say not once did my thoughts shift to Pearl Harbor when thinking about the Japanese Earthquakes, these people don't represent all or even most of us. Those people are just insensitive morons using a history that's probably not even revelant to them personally, all to justify their stupidity. Fuck those idiots, can't say that enough.

The problem with a lot of americans is that when things go right, They're awesome

and when things go wrong its a personal insult that is never forgiven and never forgotten.

These people are pathetic in the fact that they use an incident from a war that took place almost 100 years ago to justify their bigotry and racism. They will gladly forget the fact that soon after the "pearl harbour" attack, the USA nuked japan killing more than Double the amount of people that died in the harbour.

Its stupidity at its worst and its because of things like these, that the rest of the world think "Stupid, Racist, bigots" when the word American is spoken.

I remember something like this being sad by stupid russian motherfuckers (I'm russian too) when there was eathquake in Georgia (if I remember correctly). Vast majority of people are unimaginably stupid and spiteful. This is why there should be entry exam to web 2.0. Reading should remain free, but only because I'm feeling generous.

Right.

17 people in America are assholes. I think it's fair to say that all of America is like that. I mean, obviously, what are there, 18 people in America? DURRRRR.

These are all horrible, horrible people; besides, you'd think the nukes and internment camps would be payback enough.
