I rank somewhere below THE ULTIMATE GAMER. I have every system, and I'll play any game. I may not be good, but I'll try and play it. I don't discriminate either, if a game looks good I'll give it a go.

That would be me.

I'd say I fall somewhere between casual and hardcore. I'm hardcore in the sense that I play a lot of games a lot of the time, but I'm casual in the sense that I won't instantly accuse you of cheating if you beat me.

i fall inbetween hardcore and casual as i used to play semi pro so i guessed that made me hardcore but i kinda faded away from the pro gaming side of things and only play for fun at the moment so ive started to move back into the casual side of things. So i play for fun but can still normally hit the top 3 in every game i play.

I'd say I'm casual. I don't do anything 100%, I don't care about achievements (except maybe in Left 4 Dead), and I kinda suck at multiplayer (generally, some games I'm decent).

People who call themselves hardcore aren't actually the definition of the word.

People who are the definition of the word don't really call themselves anything, save professional in certain cases.

I play games for fun.
I like to be good at the games I play.
I spend too much time getting good at them.

I guess that means I'm hardcore. :/

Pretty self explanitary tell us what type of gamer you would consider yourself and why you would consider yourself to be that.
I would consider my self to be casual, but not in the Wii sense casual, I normally play games for a bit of fun and to just catch up with friends etc.
Wii sense casual? Excuse me?

I'm a pretty heavy gamer. I don't know if I would call myself "Hardcore", but i've finished a hell of alot of games, I've got a hell of alot of games still to finish, and I game probably in excess of ten hours a day.
That being said, if I have something important that needs doing, I'll choose doing that over playing a game. So while I most likely have an unhealthy addiction, I'm not so far gone that I don't pee, eat, sleep, work or have a social life.

If I wanna game, I'll easily sit and play for 12 hour stretches if I have nothing else to do. (Record is about 27 hour session on WoW...didn't do much good for my health). If I play a game with achievements I'll try get as many as I can, generally I like to play older games than newer ones but I do like a fair few new games.

Ofcourse, if I have stuff to do then gaming goes into the background and I'll hardly play. Maybe an hour or so every few days.

Right now I'm 3 months into a 5 month holiday, so firmly in the 'Hardcore' camp. But that'll shift as priorities do.

Only online games I play are MMORPG's, so definitely not hardcore in the 'Man, I kick arse at halo' sense. More in the 'I've grown a beard since I last stood up' sense.

I went with other. I play games at casual times, but when I play them, I go at it hardcore, so I'm torn.

Achievement whore. Can't help it. If there is an achievement for a class or weapon that I like I just must get it. Eventhough there aren't any unlocks or perks always. Just to know that I backstaped and sapped 1000 times or scored 400 000 points as a infantry player or dropped some one from 400 meters away with my regular issue Kar98 etc is rewarding enough. Occasionaly I stop to think that I could've used my time to do something else :/

As for the games I play. I think that Commander Keen IV was the first video game I ever played. From that I've tried every possible genre - I think - avaiable. I don't like these music games, I've a real instruments for playing. Besides those, everything goes.

For gaming style I'd say stealthy. In RTS and RTT I prefer mobile and stealthy units and use hit and run tactics. In games like Hitman or Death to Spies I take some pride in the fact that I can take down the target without having to kill anyone else, without saving and with hardest difficulty settings. In FPS games I like long distance battles in the fields but also hectic CQB with smg's, flamethrowers and melee weapons. In all genres I enjoy of precise teamwork.

So I ranked myself as a "other", since I might have been hardcore at somepoint, but nowadays I can't affors so much time to play anymore. Then again I think myself as little more skillful than your average player.

I used to be a hardcore gamer when I was younger. But now I play games a lot more casually. I never play online any more and just play my 360/PS3 occasionally. Been playing Fallout 3 on and off since Christmas
